I think Taranto’s game was a little underrated on here, he had 13 contested possessions and 8 clearances amongst his 30. Him, Hopper and Nank are going to be critical this year. Just watch the West Coast v GC game if you want to see what happens when you put out a young side without the support of any good experienced mids/ruckmen.

Good way to start the year of "goals"... Miller did well to track back and Lalor took an excellent mark on the wing (a sign of things to come, perhaps...) and Nank took a nice captain's contested mark

Loved the work from Blight to put McKay off at the start of that clip.

This is a review of the Richmond match by a Carlton tragic but is worth a look, he has a YouTube channel called my blue heaven and he provides very good analysis on oppos teams in his previews worth a subscription if you like that sort of stuff.

My wife and I have known Heath for over 30 years and he has a very astute footy brain. Did special comments at K Rock and other radio jobs in the day and some might remember that he was the centre half forward for Channel 7 reality TV series where they followed a football club called the Hammerheads.

Some of the guys who have been watching Richmond for a very long time at the game we were discussing what Luke did in the second half in particular the third quarter. Heath being as sharp as a tack picked up on it and I think he is the first commentator to mention it( his commentary from a Carlton perspective) those comments about Luke Trainor alone is worth the watch plus the free genuine Carlton tears.

Yes the old Bluebaggers are a bitsa team with a few mega's thrown in Cripps, Walsh, McKay and Curnow...the rest have been bought and paid for...team has playing energy but their is a lack of serious synergy!

Probably right, but it would be dumb. Maybe a sacking isn’t needed now but if the next three or four weeks aren’t good they will really need to.

They would have 20 weeks to assess Carr. How could they be convinced at this stage that he is the best option?

If it then looks bad they can take another tack. I do add, though, that I don’t like succession plans; nor do I like the approaching of big names - I believe a process is a proven method and the safest idea.

There are probably succession plans for head coaches that have worked but I can't think of one, in any sport.
