Punk's Not Dead

"...she's just gone to bed", as Darren Hanlon has often sung, but I'm starting to think that punk has now simply gone nostalgic. So, after various reunion gigs, the Filth and the Fury, you can now get "Sniffin' Glue, the Essential Punk Accessory". It contains a history of the English punk fanzine "Sniffin' Glue" plus reproductions of each issue. It's essential reading for those who want to discover, or rediscover, the punk era.

I got my copy at Readings in Carlton, so if you ask there, you should be able to get a copy.

I don't hold much hope, but it's worth asking....so, does anyone out there that has the complete set of the fanzine, "Are You Scared To Get Happy?" If so, get in touch with me.

I take it you don't like/rate the new school punk, Shinboners?

The Filth and the Fury is a awesome documentary I must admit, Rotten is a dead set legend.

"It's Shakespeare, he's great and your not!"
-Johnny Rotten on his time at school and dealing with teachers.

Depends on what you call new school punk. I mean, some people consider the Offspring to be a punk band, while other's don't. If you're talking about bands who have adopted the punk "sound" and punk "attitude" (the attitude being doing what you want to do, not the fashion statement aspect of punk), then I love the likes of Sleater-Kinney, the Bangs, and Le Tigre. But then again, you might not consider them to be punk bands.

What bands do you consider to be (new school) punk bands?
