This is based almost entirely on speculation with a touch of inside knowledge, but the Saints have been putting off resigning Nick Reiwaldt all year.
I heard directly from a very very legitimate source who was with him a fortnight ago that he was extremely worried that an injury would end it. Now it's happened.
I was thinking that Sydney would be the perfect new home.
He'd play a bradshaw-esque role where we know he won't be playing every game all season, and he'll only be around for a couple of years, but he will fill that hole in experience while Reid and Morton develop.
Most importantly for Nick, he will be away from the hounds in the Melbourne media, plus his wife is a Texan with no ties to Melbourne.
If he's only on a 2 year or year to year contract salary cap shouldn't be an issue as most of players who's wage will ne skyrocketing have a couple.of years left on their current contracts.
Anyway, just something to speculate over on a Monday morning.
