An enjoyable read, and loved reliving some of those great moments, particularly the 2003 north game, which turned me into a footy fan, a freo fan, and a pav fan, (accidently turned the tele to footy, and there it was, my conversion) and to read how sick he was that day! What a guy!

You can reinterpret the narrative to a love story, where he has a lot of not quite right relationships, where he's always looking for the ONE, hoping and waiting, and then finally, there he is, Ross Lyon... It's a beautiful moment.

I loaned my copy to a fellow purplenut a decade ago and thought I'd grab another so ordered from Fishpond,within three days they had refunded my Paypal acct.Still unethical but in the grand scheme of things...Probably adjusted their practise in response to the online feedback.

Yeah in hindsight I was perhaps a tad dramatic

Read that they have strung people along for ages/only credited their account with a refund, not their paypal etc. At least having fleshed it out it hasn't been too bad an experience for you scon

It's like the Power claiming they were hoodwinked over Ryder and Monfries,it's always been caveat emptor!
Paypal makes it fairly bullet proof,and with "Way to Go" it was only 25 bucks!
I also would have thought a reprint or ebook would be financially viable;there's supposedly about 45,000 of us these days!

Great read. I smashed through it in a day over the Christmas-New Year break and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's impossible not to love, admire and respect Pav - one of the all time greats.

I love his admiration and respect for Ross Lyon too.

Stranger and stranger.
Spoke to Perth branch again just then,gave them the ISBN(Book ID)from my copy and they again assured me it did not come up on their system.I tell them someone's bought one at the shop the last few days.
The girl who's looking in their sports section says 'I do remember this book and I think we had a few of them but it's not on the system at all!'
I've left it with her.
