Heads up Port Board posters. Chris Davies has very kindly agreed to answer a range of questions about trading from our community. Obviously he cannot answer specific questions about trade deals but post your questions in this thread and we'll see what gets answered.

Many thanks to Andrew Fuss for arranging this opportunity.

What brand of manila folder are you preparing to throw at the gold coast list manager? Avery? Otto? J. Barrows?

Do the AFL provide lunch for you guys or do you have to hoof it and get your own sandwich?

Is player trading one of those professions you develop into at a young age, like when you have a scratch match and captains pick sides, you're the kid who want to trade to get Steve and Dan by offering Fat Kev and a muesli bar?

It's provided for, mostly for media.

There are vegan, gluten free and paleo options available.

Are we looking more towards midfielders in this years draft, having drafted quite a few key position players in the last couple of years?

When trade talks with a club are at a stalemate, what steps are taken to try and work through a deal before going to AFL mediation? Is 'carn?' one of your secret weapons?

Who initiated talks with Charlie Dixon to get him interested in coming to Port Adelaide? Was it the club who saw a hole in the list and targeted the player, or was it the player/manager who sounded out the interest?

Are rookie contracts too short? Would a 2year contact plus 2year team option be a better model allowing a club 4yrs to get their sh*t together before said player hits RFA.

Are discussions with other club officials generally cordial or do they feel more adversarial? Is there genuine goodwill on both sides to find mutually agreeable solutions?

Supporters always hear talk about all the trades that are in play at any one time. Is this really the case?

Does your mobile go off at weird hours with trade suggestions that make your head spin?

Are there periods where you literally sit in a room together in awkward silence twiddling your thumbs with a passive aggressive feeling in the room?

Can you break down who has the most influence/say percentage wise when preparing and eventually making a trade?

E.g Ken 40% you 35%, Keith 25%
