Should definitely receive cheers not boos when he returns to play against us. I for one will always have a soft spot for Lynch, he was a great team man for many years and deserves to end his career on his terms. Will always be more of an eagle than a pie thats for sure!

See the bolded. Qstick is awesome and is probbaly leaving as his options as a tall forward for his age are diminishing at WC. Good on him and Collingwood for keeping going and he'll always be an Eagle.

Farewell and god speed Q stick

Many favourite memories of the stick but i think that big bomb from outside 50 in the 3rd quarter of the 2006 GF rates highly

Doing the right thing for his young family by chasing a longer deal. Will fill a role in that Collingwood forward line and maybe as a back up ruck :thumbsu:

I first encountered Quinten as a 13 year old, playing against Aquinas in footy. He was the biggest year 8 I had ever seen, and was genuiniely scary. From there he grew into an even bigger man. After leaving school he proved the doubters wrong by showing he had more than just size and strength, going on to play a variety of roles, reaching cult hero status not known since the glory days of Laurie Belotti.

One of the greatest ever eagles. Will forever hold a place in my heart. Wish him all the best with the pies.

Won't happen. Collingwood only play over here every five years. He will be retired next time they come over.

Good on Lynchy. He probably had a few years left in him but at least by leaving at this time he is one more oldie that has gradually been phased out from the list that is past there time, so it could be a slight blessing. I definitely hope he does well at the Pies, but not too well o_O

Boooooooooooooooooooo

oh wait....

I agree.

From the threads I have read the responses have typified the way for fans to treat a loyal servant of a club. One who is simply seeking an opportunity to extend his football career. Definitely not a mercenary (unlike some others) and seems to very respectful of the club where he is a life member. This is what I would prefer Free Agency to be about.

Kudos to you all.

Totally support Lynchy in his decision. He's a legend of the club and gave us the best years of his career including a flag. So many great efforts from him and from what I know a great team player.

At 29 he could play for 2>3 more years and set himself and his young family up playing for one of the top 3 clubs in the land.;)

The club has quality youngsters in Lycett and McInnes pressing claims and need development so really its a win / win for all parties.

Best of luck Q ............................but please don't play in a winning final against us.:(

Later Q, can't fault him for looking after his family by seeking an extra year elsewhere.

You gave us many good memories and some funny ones too.

Loyal servant and I will never forget the glove throw, the crab walk and most recently the flying knee. May you continue to flatten North Melbourne players for many years to come (well at least 2).

So many good memories of the Big Q, The Unit, The Glove, Q Stick, Lynchy, Rubber Chest... Slotting 60m goals with ease, throwing the glove off anywhere in the forward half, his surprising success as a midfielder in a few matches, the clumsy pack crashing, the restaurant reviews, swearing after the GF and generally being a likable, hard working team member who fulfilled any role required.

200 games, leading goalkicker in a premiership team, his contribution to the club has been very good after coming off the rookie list.

One of the club's all time greats and a member of the rare 200/200 club.

Joining that illustrious group of Eagles to Pies, names like Morrison, Williams, Rintoul and Cummings come to mind, who else?
