What was so bad about it? We've seen many players tear a hamstring tendon and come back but freeman has a 'strain' 2 months ago and is only '2 weeks' away from full training?
That's what we all said after he recovered from his 1st hamstring injury. Some of us were optimistic enough to give his body the benefit of doubt after the 2nd hamstring injury. The facts are that he has repeatedly re-injured and or created a new injury on the same hamstring. Even StKilda reported that the most recent injury was in a different area of his leg when it was first reported and that it was considered minor. Minor injuries don't take 9-10 weeks to recover from.

In 2 seasons at Collingwood he has played a total of 4 games. In those 4 games he didn't trust his body enough to fully extend himself. Running laps is one thing playing combat sport is another. Last season he was blitzing during the pre-season running drills but that's as good as it got for him. If his body was manageable and he could regularly get on the park he would not have been traded for a 2nd round pick. We all are optimistic about our players but sometimes we all need to take a step back and just look at the facts.

I believe that he will eventually play senior football but I have my doubts that he will be the player that we all thought and hoped he would be.

Sorry for the kid, looking very bad from the injury POV, like Scharenberg but for different reasons apparently.

Understandable he's had bad luck at our club and for no particular reason just wants a go somewhere else. Not rational, not ill intentioned.

Hope he comes good and goes well for the Saints.

The mods have been very busy at the Aints forum. I think we should save that for the banter thread when they come over to our crib.
I've been there before and can tell you that most of them are feral. They tried to shoot me down when I reported that there now suspended recruit Carlisle was seen over the holidays hanging out with some undesirables and eating crappy food on the Peninsular. He is clearly not a rocket scientist and probably wagged school when they were handing out brains. He was Essendon's problem prior to them wasting pick 5 on him.

I noticed there are a few with a huge chip on their shoulder. Actually quite hilarious , sometimes you think they are really trying to impress some schoolgirl. Guess they have never come over their GF2010 loss. And prob a few other minor things.
It will be interesting to see how their new recruits will be handling their prolonged off-season.

My care factor about there new recruits is pretty low form my perspective. If it wasn't for a some StKilda mates of mine my interest would be non existent.
Most of them are optimistic about the next couple of seasons but the facts are that their best players are all over 30.

He took the security and comfort of StKilda where he could walk into best 22.
The medicos are confident that with a few more months of rehab, he will be able to do a light jog into their best 22.

EDIT: This just in, Freeman experienced some unexpected soreness after light jogging, and has been designated as 2-3 weeks.

I have lost count of the number of times this thread has changed names but it has been very educational.
We are here to assist, help, better educate a certain Nathan.
He needs life skills to assist his transition one day from football (sterling career and all) to the greater world.
Heard him interviewed and that's some intelligence on show.... :D
So we are here for him
