Wonder if he remembers grand final day at Carrara in 2006?

Damo , memory wise that was a Sharks vs Zillmere game ,,, and in 2004 it was a Sharks vs Panthers play off. on a sunday.,,,You are right, a joke,,, would not of been a 1000 in attendence..... but please remember, on the saturday , Magpies vs Palm Beach in the lower division grand final played at Broadbeachand there would of been 2500 in attendence ,,,,!!!!!
In all 3 scenarios we are talking a Brisbane based club vs a gold coast based club ,,, in 2016 we are talking two gold based clubs playing off,,,,,

Indeed it was Stuy but my beef is the fact that Noosa vs West Magpies in both seniors and 2's that weekend. In their wisdom the 2's GF was played on the Saturday at Zillmere and the seniors GF on Sunday at 11.30am as a curtain raiser to the QAFL GF at carrara! The QAFL reserves match was played at 9.00am prior to this game! Was just mind boggling that anyone let alone people paid good money, would seriously believe this was a good piece of fixturing!

If the PHC GF, both seniors and reserves, had been played in Bris at say Morningside there would have been 3000 people there creating a ripping atmosphere. Instead it was farcical..

Out of all the grand finals in 2006. Only 1 team was from the Gold Coast. 4 from Brisbane 1 from the Sunshine Coast. The scheduling was also ridiculous

There is some gold in those hills isnt there TT!?? - for such an average comp some of those clubs pay reasonable $$
Played most my footy up there, tough comp, those mountain boys hit hard. Yeah there's a bit of cash up there but that's all about to change when the salary cap comes in next year.

Yeah relative to the EFL though (where there are real good $$ on offer!) it seems unbelievable what some guys will get offered to kick the leather around for.

Yeah, I know of one guy who plays div 3 efl who gets 1500 per game, crazy stuff. But if there's clubs with sponsors who are silly enough to throw their cash around like that, it's little wonder that the salary cap is being applied. I heard balwyns president on SEN the other day complaining about the introduction of the salary cap being unfair and the detrimental effect it's going to have on his club... How are they suppose to compete? he asked. That's a glimpse of how ridiculous the situation has become down here. No wonder clubs are falling over.

Thats the point I suppose, they dont want $$ to be the deciding factor - not just in the EFL but in the WDFL too. It is just unbelievable the $$ thrown at good average players in those comps

Watched the game today, which was a very scrappy game and never reached any great heights. Labrador were to good right from the start.
There pressure was to much for PBC, their defence was great and the key forwards in Retzlaff,Goldsmith and Baxter were just to good up forward.
For Labrador, Retzlaff,Goldsmith,Mills,Stockdale and Morris were very good
For PBC, Askey, Ritchie, and Thynne were good
Not a bad crowd,, reckon about 2700 to 3000.

PBC weren't able to get their game going, bombed high and long and mills had a field day as a result.

Agree crowd was decent. 1500-2000 was my estimate, seriously doubt there were more than 2500. Would have got an extra 1000-1500 at broady.

Big mistake by Palm Beach not playing Stubbs considering Douglass went into the game with a suspect shoulder & couldn't lift his left arm up after the first qtr.

They only reason I would've taking a risk on Douglass with his known shoulder issue is play him as a decoy to drag Mills out of the play & park Stubbs in the goal square as the go to forward.

Mills must've intercepted a dozen marks in the first half yet PB kept kicking into his area, Mills reads the play well in the air , his deserved B.O.G Medal was contributed by PB's poor execution into their forward line.

PB coach made some moves during the game which seemed more detrimental to the team the helpful.
The big Palmy ruckman had no impact so he would've been better used a kick behind play to block the Labradors forwards path & force them wide into the pockets.

Who am I you ask?
Just an expert spectator!
