I understand WG had about 1000 carparks available for AFLW game in February. Onsite, at Stafford School, adjoining properties (120 undercover). Short walks from the streets around the park as well as along the Kedron Brook walkway it easily catered for about 5000 people at the AFLW game.
That's great to here But to get big crowds the parking need to be at the Ground
Somewhere to send the wife when she starts Moaning and to get wet gear ECT from Car
Kedron Brook at that Close ?

Like just about every footy club Grange has issues with parking, but Yeronga would be right up there with the very worst.

Even with the AFLW crowd of over 5k there were very few if any complaints about parking, so that won't stop a QAFL GF being held at Grange if everything else is up to scratch.

Pretty sure its just that Surfers submitted a much longer list that must include their colts (unless they really do have 80 players signed up to fill 2 teams??)

Suspect a few clubs also not being entirely sure of a players true junior club, so if they came over at 15/16, they just claim them as their own.

I note for example that the Magpies claim Jack Austin as a Sherwood junior, when he's from Springwood.

What incentive is there for kids from lower Div footy clubs that have been loyal to their respective clubs and then they have a crack at QAFL and are worth 3 points?

I understand it assists with poaching from minor clubs, but makes it hard for kids to get a leg up when they worth 3 points coming from lower level footy.

Well I do agree grange is a great facility and agree get the game away
From yeronga please
But if two GC sides are in any of there qafl grounds of the none playing team
Would
Be great
If a Brisbane team has rights to a ground
Wow there are 20 plus great grounds
Better than yeronga
But great work by grange getting the ground up to the condition it needs to be in and the work around the club
Is great well done

Agree seems odd. The idea of QAFL is to develop these talented players. Should be 2 points.

Yep, not a fan of kids recruited from QFA being 3 pointers. Perhaps they could make them 2 pointers if they are under 20.

As for the accuracy of the lists, its tough. It's literally one bloke filling in a spreadsheet and having to remember where people came from.

JA is definitely a Springwood junior. I also got Highlands wrong who is from Coorparoo, not Yeronga.

We also have 35 Colts that are 95% sherwood juniors I didn't have on our list.

Just agree

Must agree Grange people have put in a massive effort to bring their facilities up to date. Let's hope their players appreciate it and perform accordingly. With this I still expect them to finish in the last three on the ladder

Points system very interesting

Eddie Mallan 5 points - I have seen a trophy for Eddie Mallan as Under 18 Morningside Best and Fairest !!
Luke Rogerson 5 points- Morningside Junior before he went to Redlands
If Ben Keays, Matthew Hammelman, Tom Bell, Josh Smith, Tom Hickey come back to play at Morningside are they all 5 points !!

Bell and Keays wouldn't be, they are likely 1 pointers. Maybe not Bell

the rest would be 5 pointers. Just pinching blokes at 16 like Morningside always do doesn't make them a club junior.

rogerson aint a morningside junior.

Same as Angus Munro. Club junior, 2013 premiership captain. Played in country vic last year and is now worth 4. Go figure

Hammelmann came to Morningside at 12 as his junior club (Carindale) doesn't go past 11's.. The Morningside hate is evident.

That would make him a 1 pointer then, the system is fine. Only agree with one complaint. Getting 16-20 year olds from the QFA Div1-3 clubs should be 2 points, not 3 points. eg. I see Colenso at Morningside who is a teenager is a 3 pointer. that doesn't make any sense, and presumably its because he played QFA seniors as a 15/16 year old. Should be discounted if under say about 23 or so.

Have been told Grange are now the strongest Brisbane club right now - not necessarily on field but certainly off.

Points system will be interesting - the 3 pointer for a QFA kid, although a deterrant, will prevent these clubs being smashed by over zealous QAFL clubs that cant get their junior set up in order and decide to hit the phones to every QFA side within coee that runs a decent junior program. In the end this system rewards clubs that develop their own. Not the most terrible thing in the world.

My Broady will be missing star players in Erickson, Neal and Nelson as well as gun recruit Miller ,,, practically our midfield first choice players ,, might be a hard day at the office tommorrow

As predicted, was a hard day at the office with Palm Beach just to good all over the ground and Jack Anthony bagging 8 .
See Morningside beat Labrador and Mt Gravatt over the Magpies in a thriller

Palmy far to good for Broadbeach yesterday. Fairly scrappy match but pbc had winners in most positions.

Emblem did a fine job on Cloke as did McBurnie on Fowler.

Huge wins for vultures at home and Morningside winning at Labrador. Was anyone at these games to report about?
