QAFL 2021

Now Essendon and North are raiding QAFL lists for a meaningless scratch match.

Given Morningside have the bye, wouldn't it be a good idea to target their list first..?
And then it has reverted to the status quo. Nobody playing and VFL boys back with their QAFL clubs - what a mess for QAFL coaches to have to deal with.

Tbh honest guys great to Jono Freeman and Tommy Templeton playing with us with weekend and as a club we are pretty excited and so are they. With covid the vfl has been hard work for all all involved from what I’m hearing!
And yes smy I am a mad pie supporter but we will be fine would love Clarko but if not Voss will do! And I won’t mention Fitzroy!😂👍

I think there was 6 or 7 going to play from Morningside as well Thommo from my understanding. They needed about 14 players apparently?

Be interesting how VFL plays out now in next few weeks and impact on QAFL leading into finals. Could turn entire QAFL Competition on its head if all these players start heading back to local footy to qualify for finals?

I know there is rules around number of QAFL games to qualify for finals is there a cap on how many VFL games they have played to make them ineligible?

What an exciting weekend of footy coming . Loads of clubs will have top tier talent.
I love that it lifts the standard of all grades, I just don’t know which game to go and watch ..

Any suggestions of the best game to watch would be greatly appreciated.

I might just head to Metricon and have a footy test hahaha

I really enjoy watching Sherwood play , so I might go watch them play Redland.

who’s the ex coach of Mt Gravatt that’s at Redland? He seems a bit boisterous in the box from what I’ve seen . The coach Carse is okay but the other ones a bit loose ..

Magpies in the other hand are very calm and methodical. I really enjoy the way they go about it .. great culture !!!

the Labrador Surfers game last week was an absolute belter , I watched that online while in Melbourne . Good luck to who ever is playing both those sides this weekend they were both very fast and had fantastic defensives

I was just looking at the points from last weekend .. can someone explain to me how this points system works ???

I understand that’s players dropping back from VFL only get a point . But I’m looking at particular club who’s got a list of at least 10 ex NEAFL players all on 1 point .. how does that work ???

2 clubs last round up near the 50 points cap and then the rest under 35 points ..

is this system floored and how does 1 club seem to be able to have list of 1 pointers who are clearly 3 pointers .
I may just be missing something completely

a club can only play a maximum of 4 primary VFL listed players in a game anyway, the development guys (22 and under are freebies though)

remarkable how the competition is treated, absurd that there was potentially a situation where players were going out of their state league team to play a scratch match.

Freeman left out of Aspley team? or is their game cancelled?

It's a complete rort.

Look at Mt Gravatt, they have to have Malone as a 5 pointer - who is essentially a guy who originated in senior footy from the Vulture. If Redland wanted him, he's a 1 pointer because they gave a rubbish years of service discount for a completely different franchise based competition.

So the exact same individual is 5 points at 1 club, and 1 point at the other club - despite having played similar amounts of footy at both, and the only reason he would have gone to Redland would be to play a higher level, then they come back and get all these dodgy discounts when they drop back to QAFL.

Luckily most of the Brisbane club have home grown lists, so if they wanted to go and grab a bunch of 5 pointers they could - but its still bullshit. Even worse, you look at Sherwood they come up against Redland this week and will face one or two of their own juniors, who play at Redland against their junior club on 1 point! #fuelcardphil !

If you were up the coast I think, despite positions on ladder, the Noosa / Roos game will be a cracker. Noosa has best side in for the year with Templeton and Freeman playing, Roos unit is very very good as well. Noosa celebrating 4 premierships this weekend I think so be a lot of people there, even more than usual for a local derby. Would think a couple of thousand. Be a good day.

I believe redlands were able to get their neafl players as 1 pointers because the club formed as a merger with victoria point who were a div 2 amatuer side so technically they are still playing for the same club as before but i do see how it can be seen as unfair, it's not like they're undefeated and unstoppable by any means, the point systems in this league only really affects one club anyway.
