Poor AFLQ, let's see what comes out from them. think it was always pushing the proverbial uphill to get games on this week.

Wonder if the gatherings of 30 rule would put games off outside Brisbane/MB anyway? Otherwise there might be a handful that could go ahead (PBC-Redland, Surfers-Broady, Coolangatta-Burleigh in Div 2)

Also really feeling for everyone involved in the women's grand finals this week

What about Sunday footy for this round?

That is a good point, with no juniors on anyway.

Guess it depends what restrictions remain and also availability of players and especially volunteers and officials, can they all be available sunday at the drop of a hat

As the draw isn't balanced anyway (ie not all play each other twice) the option to not include this weekends rounds in the season is most likely. To try and play these games sometime later means pushing finals back a week which will put our GF on Sept 25th the same as AFL. I dont think that will happen.

Is this a weekend when some games are doubled up Bud? ie I know Roos have played Mounties previously - is this the case with all the games this weekend? Makes sense like you said to remove a whole round if the case.

Funnily enough, this being the case, it makes the competition "fairer" if you wish.

except that now some teams will have 9 home games and others 8. It’s not the end of the world just not “fairer”.

an option would be to play this round at end of home and away and revert to a 3 week final series. Personally I’m against that (I’d rather everyone share the points from thus weekend) but it is an option

Yes true but think it is significantly unfairer to have someone play Noosa 2x this year and not Labrador 2x. Obviously there was always going to be unevenness around the draw once it was put into place but the only "fair" draw is one where everyone plays each other the same number of times. Missing this round brings that closer.

That's already the case.

Not everyone plays everyone twice, draw is uneven and that's one of the reasons for a top 6 instead of top 5.

Round completely abandoned

Noosa get their first 2 points and Morningside miss out on 2, Mt gravatt and Surfers probably big beneficiaries of 2 points they may not have got.

Nothing really that materially impacts the finals perhaps, but will see later in the year.

I wouldn't

I wouldn't be stating any teams got lucky or unlucky based on multiple results in the past few weeks. Rule a line and move forward to the last 7 rounds. Every team's destiny still in their own hands from here

yeah agree with that although you’d have to think morningside would’ve got over Noosa at home. The other games you would have to say could’ve gone either way so forget about it and move on,

to be honest at the cats there’s been a few sore bodies and a long injury list that have benefited from an unexpected rest , although of course other clubs can say the same

Mt Gravatt much better than some think , I really rate them at their best. The comp draw was already uneven so 2 points won’t matter.

I think BroadBeach would be breathing a big sigh of relief after the week off .. I heard on the grape vine Surfers had a all their VFL players available including Pescud and Lynch and had a number of players back from injury ..

Can someone confirm that there may be some internal issues at BroadBeach at the moment there’s a few rumours around things aren’t going well ?
