What a load of crap! Clearly hit his head on the ground in the last quarter last week against Sherwood and came off the ground for the rest of the quarter.

Terrific game at Graham Road this afternoon, Hornets challenged at every stage, Aspley’s contest & control game vs Sherwoods ability to run & spread, Stacks with 7, what a star of the comp vs J Cameron up the other end with 5, a bit fiery at times, rapt for my hornets, full of praise for the pies, underestimate them at your peril.

I was very impressed with Sherwood when they played Aspley in the Pre-Season. I knew today was going to be a tough game for the Hornets as an Aspley fan. To echo what carnthejets said, “underestimate them at your peril.” The Magpies will definitely make Finals. Even if this season had the old Top 6 Finals format in place, I’d say they would still make it. Won’t be surprised if Sherwood makes a late push for the Top 4 later in the season if teams above them start to drop off.

See Morningside make a statement this evening belting Coorparoo and holding them to only 1 goal 1 point

Went and had a look at Coorparoo vs Morningside last night expecting a tight game considering who Morningside had out, but it was a very one sided contest.

Not sure who was out for Roos but definitely a worrying sign as they showed very little competitive spirit and coming into winter they wouldn’t want any injuries or might be a very long year.

Went and had a look at Coorparoo vs Morningside last night expecting a tight game considering who Morningside had out, but it was a very one sided contest.

Without Kyle Dunkley they have a Div. 1 list tbh.

Jack James is out for the whole season, not sure what injury but he has been seen with a full leg brace walking around the place. Im taking Fletcher Clare from mt gravatt kids a gun and he is the only player that gives it 100% each game to think hes only 20 to! hopefully a shining light for the vultures...

thats embarassing from Coorparoo against a side missing quite a few topliners (yet still somehow at 50 points!)

Mt Gravatt are getting slightly more competitive and at least kicking some sort of score each week. If I recall last year, in the 2nd half of the season (apart from the final round) they were regularly getting beaten to scores of sub 20 with 150+ point margins.

For Coorparoo to only put up 2 scoring shots in an entire game, only beat the Vulture by a couple of kicks off the back of a 2nd half demolition vs Sherwood shows they are a long way off it.

Good competition though, outside those bottom 2. The ladder looks very even!

mt gravatt were never winning that, but that was certainly not a free kick and 50.

if you look a few years ago in 2023 during the preason when the vultures still had Jonah, Joel leahy, todd carbone etc, they only beat the kings by a point or two.

mt gravatts come along way, someone has even made a mt gravatt fan page on tiktok!

So can someone explain to me why the out of the 3 south central Brisbane clubs of Sherwood, Mt Gravatt and Morningside. Only one has multiple premierships and hasn’t been wooden spoon since QAFL began? I am well aware Morningside was a powerful club for a long time but Mt Gravatt hasn’t played in a GF since 2009 and not sure if Sherwood even played in one in Pineapple cup.

In terms of senior team success only, why have Sherwood and Mt Gravatt been behind or just in the middle of the pack for so long?
