I’d argue though that Southport will only get better every year moving forward. Played with 37/50 points last weekend and have a dozen reserves who would be seniors at every other club and probably be in better players. Well coached, resourced and club obviously puts effort and time into their program.

I imagine if all the QAFL talent on the Gold coast collected at only 2 clubs, then we would see similar dominance in the mens comp.

AFLQ added 2 Brisbane clubs to the QAFLW competition for 2025, neither of whom who were really ready for it and diluted the talent in Brisbane even further behind than they already were.

It’s about the players now. I can’t imagine how tough it must be to show up week after week for the past two seasons, only to get smashed, frequently by over 150 and even 200. Footy is supposed to be fun and an escape from reality for two hours, but those Vultures boys must all hate the game by now. They can't even leave, as most of them would carry 5/6 player points, and no club would select them off that. Just drop them. It’s the club that dragged them into this mess in the first place. Honestly, if the club had put in the effort, and prioritised their qafl program, they could’ve easily kept their top players and avoided the collapse of 2024.

The scores website showed they had kicked 4 goals in the first quarter. I was commenting how they were getting smashed by much less than was Labrador at the same time.

a good day for the cats today. Surfers probably not quite at their best but a good win after a tough few weeks certainly welcome.

nothing i know of, but seriously there seems to be no game plan ang after every 1st quater when there competing he doesn't know what to do, apparently the players do not like him and much prefer the ressies coach.

Watched the Morningside vs Palmy today, Palmy much more drilled and their pressure in and around the congtested ball was very good,
Ive seen Morningside 3 times this season and they just seem Clunky so to speak , just not playing well .
Admitting they had 3 guns out today in Horne, Mcdough and Cockatoo Collins but had Brock Aston back from Southport.
The 3rd quarter saw them play at their best and they kicked 6 goals to one and hit the front ,, but Palmy belted them in the final quarter,,
Palmy looked good all over the ground and they fed Casboult very well
