Couple of senior footy debuts for maroochy lads yesterday too in Caylan Murray and Issac Waller. Both had very good Academy programs this year. Both appeared in best players yesterday.
Cockatoo Collins played, and kicked a couple in the 3rd when they made their comeback. Gutsy effort from Morningside given that they lost Cockatoo in the first quarter and Castle in the second. Ran out of petrol in the last quarter once Palmy got on a run. Certainly helps having Casboult up forward.
Palmy have to be favourites for the flag now.
But geez Morningside are stacked. Missing McDonagh, Hodge, Pendlebury, Horne, Griffiths, Wason and Bertoli Simmonds yesterday. Plus I'm not sure what is happening with Daniel Lloyd.
If they can get them all back, then they could cause some trouble come finals time.
Broke a bone in his hand Miller - now played 2 games back, one in colts, then last week. Yea he was a given to be in the Allies mix prior to injury and speaking with this morning he's hoping he might get a run still but I think playing senior QAFL footy as a 17yr old will be a good environment for him to be in as a great compromise.that Murray kid is a star. If he is back from injury, he might get an Allies call up? I heard he broke his arm a few weeks ago, not the case?

Excluding 2020, its improved massively.Chasing some opinions from fellow posters ;
Do you think the overall standard of the QAFL has improved, declined or remained similiar over the past 5 seasons .
Im interested to here your opinions
I think the pool of top line players has decreased significantly as blokes playing QAFL now that are no where near good enough for this level even 3-4 years ago.Chasing some opinions from fellow posters ;

I reckon early 2000’s was better. Played against Lions reserves. Comp was stacked back thenChasing some opinions from fellow posters ;

Yep fair call but missing 8-10 first choice players was always gonna be tough, definitely have built our capability at full tilt just need to improve our depth within… it’s a tough week to week comp and every week u get another opportunity. PBC are a well seasoned unit with the right mix of local products and added players.Wow that result is embarrassing for Sherwood, even Mt Gravatt haven’t scored that low this year.
Still Me ,, I agree with you hereI think the pool of top line players has decreased significantly as blokes playing QAFL now that are no where near good enough for this level even 3-4 years ago.
