All the talk of kicking Mt Gravatt. They still manage to field 3 teams every week. Forfeiting game unforgivable QAFL need to ask some serious questions of Broadbeach. Fielding Colts part of Top Tier requirements.

Yep. Mt Gravatt Colts also pumped Broadys colts by 10 goals last week. Not too sure what’s going on there.

Real heartbreak for Mt Gravatt today in seniors. Led the whole game apart from the last 2 minutes. For a team full of 19/20 year olds that is quite an effort this late in the season.
 
Who is the most underrated player in the QAFL this season?

I'll start - Brady Rowles from the Vultures, they often go unrecognised but this guy is getting 25 disposals a week and is pretty much the only reason they can go forward (he was a rookie draft to sydney back in 2020/21 i believe)
 
Not sure about individual players but I wouldn’t underestimate Surfers coming into the finals. What an impressive win over Palm Beach on Saturday.

Is it now a battle of 4? Palmy, Redlands, Morningside & Surfers? Aspley seem a little off their previous best. They have a big 2 weeks ahead v Morningside & Surfers.

Of course it is.

For every strong u17D1 side, you can almost guarantee there is a struggling Colts at the same club and for every strong Colts side, their ressies are probably bottom 6 as well!

Looking at the ladder is classic, the Top 3 colts clubs occupy 3 of the bottom 5 Reserves spots on the ladder.

Ring fencing personified.
 
Broadys senior men’s side was very good in Saturday. Moved the ball very quickly when allowed to.
Some good fwds and tight back half in the main. It was a really good game of footy with the cats just too good
 
Round 16 Tipping Results

A mix of tips and some closely contested games meant that no one tipped the card this week. It was a round that could have gone either way in several matches.

I’ve noticed a couple weird 17’s placings as well that you wouldn’t expect.

Aspley doesn’t even have a div 1 17’s team, they sit 5th in div2. No idea how many years it has been since Aspley hasn’t fielded a div 1 team in a select age category.

Same with PBC, 17’s sit mid table in div 2 as well.

At least 3 colts age boys played seniors and probably 6 or 7 in the ressies. Colts aged Coulson, Collins and White were playing VFL (wouldn’t have played colts, but would have pushed others down)
Then asking u17’s ,who are heading for finals, to get up to the Sunny coast for a flogging….

Not surprised they couldn’t field a team TBH.

Bugger I’m bhoward and I actually did them but didn’t hit save . I got 4/5 but no stress.

Not sure a flogging. Isn’t like maroochy is sitting top of the table and they had a few colts boys running around in their senior group too.

If both sitting mid table in their respective divisions,I’d say the people making the decisions on what comp to play in got it spot on! Those two clubs(especially at Senior level) know exactly what they are doing and have done so for decades.
Noosa17s decided to go to Div 2 due to the fact they have 10 boys playing up in the colts which they love.Sometimes it’s the less travel also that effects a grading decision but in the youth boys space up here all good👍
