Agree,,,It’s the old debate that pops up every now and then.
I think all would agree the QAFL is different to the footy down south, due to climate and ground sizes which are generally fairly big in comparison to Melbourne grounds in particular. Therefore it tends to be quicker footy up here.
The top end in strong comps such as O&M would be similar or possibly a touch stronger (maybe?) but I’m pretty certain depth wise the QAFL is a lot stronger than the country leagues, through mainly sheer weight of numbers, so overall I think it would be overall slightly QAFL higher.
I saw on the AFL website that QLD is now second to VIC now surpassing WA in terms of playing participants, and unlike down south, the QAFL is the only comp at a good standard, it drops off pretty quickly.
Just to add,,, the size of the grounds in country victoria are as large as QAFL grounds all day long if not larger overall.Agree,,,
