On a scale of these looneys to those who carry a banner now saying "wear a mask" but it used to say "masks don't work" because that's what they were told, I think we would have a better world leaning closer to the loonies.

If I’m finding out about cancer I will talk to the medical specialist in that field.

If I’m wanting to know about economics I will listen and read information from economists.

The issue isn't listening to experts. It's being a person who repeats what they have heard without troubling their brain.

I used the example where previously the population was told masks don't work and could make it worse, so a group of people took up the effort against masks. Now they say masks are very helpful (just like everyone noticing that nations that wear masks showing it working) and the same group minus a few bright sparks are pushing the must wear masks message.

The lesson in this is that you'll be told what suits the big picture and you don't need to know the big picture because you can't be trusted to. We knew we didn't have the supplies, so it's better to tell people a lie than to trust them with the truth.

This is why people repeating the utterances of power is dangerous.

Make an idea your own, formulate it yourself and embody it before you are repeating what amounts to propaganda of a group to which you don't matter.

That is why I think people trying to have more control over their own lives is better than a repeater station.

I'd rather neither.
