News starting to filter out of Switzerland- nothing yet on the two ExCom members or the Spain-Qatar "note"- wonder if it will be swept under the carpet?

BBC Report....

As expected, the main problem with the Qatar bid is the 50 degree heat in June and July

Very good chance they will get booted which is what the Americans will be hoping for badly

Qatar has so many issues in the report
-The inability to test the transport system at WC loading
-The training "village" which fights FIFAs directive for a Nationwide event
-Most of the accommodation will be in just a few properties leading to the likelihood of exclusivity
-The reliance and loading of 1 airport
-Because most of the plan is on paper it leaves hardly any room for contingencies if things aren't going according to plan
-They can't test security
-They don't have enough qualified people to service a WC
-The health risk from heat-people will die, simple as that

Aussie boost as Qatar World Cup bid slammed

But the criticism of Qatar is damning, even written in FIFA's diplomatic speak, and it emerged last night that the flaws highlighted in the bid are leading to a fresh push to have it ruled non-compliant before the December 2 vote.

Though it's expected that FIFA's ethics committee will find no hard evidence of collusion between the Spain/Portugal and Qatar bids when it reports tomorrow, it's believed the other seven bidders are lobbying FIFA's ExCo members to have the Middle East nation sidelined at an extraordinary meeting tomorrow.

Hardly a surprise - we all know the Qatar bid is a joke.

We also all recognise its essentially USA v Australia for 2022. Some of you expect Australia to win, I don't. I can see it being a 14-8 or 14-10 vote against Australia. Something like that.

We shall see.

Don't just pluck a figure out-name them
Besides Blazer,Warner and Thompson:)
I really don't see the Asian delegates falling in behind Australia like some here seem to think. What would be in it for them when denying Australia could bolster their chances for 2026?

As well, because China is not a bidding nation - what's to stop them paying some of these delegates off? I'm not suggesting they are, but is there anything in the rules against a nation not bidding being nice to the exco members? Very nice perhaps?

I'm pretty sure all the "strictures" only apply to bidding nations in that regard don't they?

Fact is, we just don't know how its all going to come out in the wash, but it is fun to speculate.

The fact that you even bring China up shows just how last month you are:)

The argument is so dead.
The ones that orchestrated the whole idea were the Americans and they never bring it up anymore because they're shitting themselves.Gone is the confidence of a few months ago when they had by my reckoning 11 primaries(on the cusp of an outright first round win)The absolute scrambling started 6 days ago:cool:They have 2 to 3 votes ATM :)
Blatter has already said its a non issue
We will get Chung and Ogura but regardless we have plenty of support elsewhere-much to the chagrin of some here
