‘Quaynor had several run-ins with Rankine’ is barely on Lynch/Andrew/Houston level
They dont bother me as much, they arent well coached so it brings them back a peg. They'll also have guys with suspect injury history playing off a short breakEither of Giants or Hawks would worry me. It’s been a while since we beat the Giants by a small margin in the wet

I understand most will be angry and that’s fair enough, but the game seemed very even in the first half and then unfortunately we had a lapse for 10min to start the 3rd and it cost us. Thought we regrouped well after that, but the damage was done. Can Sidebottom retire already? Haha
Great to see Tex standup in his 300th, love this guy. Pedlar’s best game on the big stage, maybe there is a player here still.
Anyway, we earned a 2nd chance and I hope this group can taste a finals win to set them up for 2026 and beyond, because winning the flag from here seems very remote now.
As much as Jeff liked to antagonise this year, I think his general contribution to the forum was goodIt’s disappointing Jeff isn’t around anymore,

Giants don’t worry me, they’re limping to the line. Hogan is playing on one leg.Either of Giants or Hawks would worry me. It’s been a while since we beat the Giants by a small margin in the wet
Much harder to see that Houston has the ball compared to Quaynor.None of those copped the treatment Quaynor got last night, not even the bloke who knocked out Rankine and then took the piss out of him the following game.
I saw it differently in that 1st half, but that’s just me.Nah we were never in it. The regroup was more Collingwood slowing down the play and we just were able to snare a few. But the game was done the moment they kicked away.

Hawks are well coached, they aren’t as talented as us at either end and in the middle (except for small forwards)They dont bother me as much, they arent well coached so it brings them back a peg. They'll also have guys with suspect injury history playing off a short break
They're also not a side or club who gets up in our faces like Collingwood and Hawthorn do, we dont handle that well.
Quaynor belted us early tooMuch harder to see that Houston has the ball compared to Quaynor.
They just didn't get it in the board. For that reason we still had a chance if we could turn it around. But we couldn't turn it around.According to the Fox commentary, the first quarter had the largest single quarter pressure discrepancy ever recorded in a final
In Collingwood's favor of course

He was in the box. Didn’t help. This entire rebuild has been absolutely bloody pointless unless we get in 2 GUN mids, and Draper becomes the star we need. Tonight just re-confirmed that.
And make Murray Davis head coach.
MaffewDarcy Moore had 13 disposals last night, and didn't really have to earn any of them as such.
We put him under pressure once.... and he made a very ordinary error.
Youd think we'd learn
I'd say we haven't had decent 4 quarter effort since the port game.Nicks, the coaches and our leaders absolutely failed the fans and the occasion. Its that simple. Our first finals in 8 years, tex 300 and we put up an effort like that.
A lot of focus was on the 300th, for an inexperienced finals side like ours it was a massive distraction we didnt need.Nicks, the coaches and our leaders absolutely failed the fans and the occasion. Its that simple. Our first finals in 8 years, tex 300 and we put up an effort like that.
Yes but not just him.Maffew
We all just had a week off leading into finals...i don't buy the players being run into the ground. It was mental attitude and coaching that cost us last nightThis is another thing, and its on the coaches and selection committee.
We battled through the season trying to get ourselves in the position that we did.... but we did so running guys into the ground.
Of all our senior types only Walker and Laird got rested.
AgreeYes but not just him.
We couldnt hit a target that wasn't him, our skills and composure let us down.
I said it earlier but if we were so insistent on playing Max forward, then don't worry about Jaicos, worry about the guy marking every ball inside D50Agree
But at least put a forward defender on him to make him work for it
I might be reaching, but Tex retiring might be a good thing? Then we can recruit a ‘tagging KPF’ - which, if we recruit Ah Chee (who plays tall anyway), should work
