Chris Scott is not to blame for our skill errors and overall lack of 'effort' or whatever you want to call it. He's not to blame when Clangerfield sends it straight down a Port defender's throat. Scott isn't to blame when Guthrie spectates as his opponent runs away with the ball. You can't blame Scott if a player misses an open goal from 15 metres out.

Fortunately we get another game to try to reboot.

anyone with a brain knows this. There are some people on here who can’t dissect a game and have no idea beyond saying a coach failed every time we lose a game. It’s like a parrot

Yeah, if only we had a guy whose job was to, I dunno, 'coach' these players.

What about all the crappy, slow it down, side to side s**t, that got us into this mess ?

The biggest issue tonight isn't the game plan but rather simple player execution errors

Hawkins & Cameron have missed easy shots on goal

We've failed to hit teammates on the chest with 20m kicks under no pressure

Defenders have repeatedly dropped simplistic marks, and we're seeing forwards doing the same

Then add in the failure to stick tackles

There's things that worked tonight, but what hasn't worked is the basics out on the field
Can be summed up simply: Total inability to handle finals pressure (causing massive choking)

We've gone from near premiership favourites 2 weeks ago to... the edge of a cliff. I'll support the boys boys all the way, through thick and thin but THIS is a stinker, a demoralising effort that could end up having huge ramifications in the not-too-distant future... or maybe not. Miracles do happen but not often. Maybe we can get to the grand final the long road, but the mountaintop is a long way away just now :worried:

I think this will be 6 Qualifying Final losses out of 7 for Chris Scott. Any chance someone with a brain at the club thinks to have a look at what the coach is doing ???? It’s soul destroying to set up a program of high expectation for the supporters then low performance when it counts. whole of footy dept fail, if of course you are aiming at premierships.
8 of our last 9 first finals. and the one win only occurred cos Smith missed a sitter after the siren.

We then recruited smith.

Yep and it's got nothing to do with the coach. You can't win when you make basic skill errors again and again and again. At least half their score was from dumb stuff from us and we missed a ton of chances ourselves.
Serious question, what do you think the job of a coach is? Does it not involve teaching the players skills and how to execute them under pressure?
