Whats a key forward worth in Div 1? Hill kicked 50 goals in Div 1 in 2023 with 39 this year at aspley albeit 25 of those goals were reserves games. My understanding is his asking price is $400 per game. Do you think this is market value?
Sounds like a lot for a guy who was a good player in Div 1 previously but isn’t qafl quality.
Sounds like he’s a very good fella though and possibly could be parachuted in as an assist coach therefore increasing his price ?

Massive signing at Springwood with Aaron Christensen great experience and knowledge. Unfortunately rumours are that first year premiership puma and 4th in the league bnf Liam Bird departing the club after receiving offers in WA in what would be a massive loss for the club.

What are the arrangements going to be for Caloundra with Carter Park and the Baringa complex?
Not entirely sure how it looks but it’s going to be a great asset for the club and give us great access to expand our junior base into Aura/Banya/Caloundra West.

We now have 4 seniors sides and plenty of juniors sharing one ground, the foot traffic means the ground is always chasing its tail and limited space for everyone. We currently only get access 6 months a year as we share North St with Little Athletics so this gives us a ground to use the entire year.

My understanding is all senior football matches will still take place at North St.

It’s a fantastic coup for the footy club no doubt logistical issues tho be overcome with 2 “club” basically running out of 2 different venues but in time will be sensational

Some good facilities up the Sunny coast now. Fishermans Rd, Meridian (Kawana), North Shore and now Baringa complex (2 AFL fields??)

You'd imagine it would work pretty similar to Aspley's second ground. A great get for the club

Is the drainage better than carter park? Wonder if we'll see some games moved there after big rain

Went to the opening over the weekend and the grounds had barely any water laying around, impressed based on the amount we’ve had over the last week or so up this way.

Yea you would think it at least provides options. Biggest thing is that preseason isn't compromised by having to request use of someone elses oval space (like Kawana AFC and the meridan fields). Prior to this kawana SHS oval. Can be self sufficient. will help immensely. Think every coach now should be incredibly grateful for this decision :)

Great news for Caloundra. Do we know whether Hinterland have finally come to an agreement with the cricket club at Palmwoods to use their ground for pre-season training before April unlike last year?

If a club is advertising for players at the end of January they’re not finishing in the top 3
Ordinary take I reckon, should always be looking for players IMO. Social media not the be all and end all for how a clubs travelling. Think Caloundra will be going ok again, haven’t lost much at all and picked up a few (don’t all have to be on social media) think a few clubs have fallen off and in a bit of trouble for numbers but again Chinese whispers so not my place to say to much.

Advertising for “ experienced players” tells me the squad is either light on numbers or the club has concerns for age demographics of the squad. If this is the case Hendo will need to get an extraordinary amount out of the squad to finish top 3. So not really an ordinary take

Absolutely an ordinary take, and that’s just my opinion. Joys of public forums
I guess.

What do you know about the squad or again just what you’ve seen on Facebook ? Can you tell me the ins and out for the team ? Or making uneducated assumptions based on a social media post. Age demographic at Caloundra is one of its strengths at current, plenty of young kids and adults coming into the perfect age bracket, all with another 15 games under there belt last year, bought in some good senior heads to help progress them along. Not to mention all junior sides now competing in Division 1 and Nathan Clarke helping develop and make the transition to seniors much more seamless.

But again let one facebook post tell you the whole story.

Ok so everything is sweet good to hear, but we are to ignore and not make any assumptions for an official club post on an official club medium asking for experienced players?

You can make uneducated assumptions based on facebook posts all you like, again the joys of public forums. Cruise down Kawana way one night and have a look and make some educated comments.

I’m sure all clubs are keen on more experienced footballers, some maybe more vocal than others no question about it. Guess we put a line through Sandgate again for the lack of player announcements and post after players just earlier today.

You should know being a president that social media posts tell a very limited part of a much larger story.

My thoughts are why wouldn't you put feelers out for experienced players. Just after Xmas and some blokes might be on the move either from thier current club or interstate.
If it attracts one or two key players it's a win. If it doesn't what have you lost.

Nothing wrong with the post nothing at all. My original comment goes back to the post from sportsfan having caloundra in top 3. Can they? If Luke can get the best out of them possibly? But it appears on face value by the call out from their own committee/president/social media they may be young and inexperienced which would be a huge effort; nothing wrong with that and nothing to be sensitive about.
In Quinnys own words as club president I am well aware of how/when and why social media posts go out.

Mayne-Puma's than daylight.
Don't be surprised if UQ are top two. Showed signs at different time last year and have heard they have recruited for needs well. Blues will b an interesting watch- lots of outs and lots of ins. Big losses to key position players.
The rest of the ladder looks about right
