Spot on - people are scare mongering about all this salary cap stuff imo. It was brought in to stop the clubs who pay massive $$ to get a side on the paddock and in turn create lop sided comps (the merits of this can be debated elsewhere I suppose). It was also brought in I imagine to stop clubs from getting ahead of themselves and looking to compete with an affluent club. ie buy success when they possibly cant (but a coach has "demanded" this has to be done).

It will be policed when opposition clubs start asking how there are 6 top end players at one club, all come from outside the junior program, all have been spoken with by various other clubs who have offered good coin but they have all ended up at club X. Club X will be asked to show what they are paying each player etc... Its not perfect but investigations will be instigated based on whispers and innuendo and whistle blowers and piss talk! So be it.

The stuff around the other add ons such as slab of beer, training camps, wont even come into it. Its a non issue. A bloke giving $300 in a brown paper bag to bog will though.
$300 can get you a lot a club X

Yeah we have lost a few and of real quality too but training numbers are still fine and like last year will keep injecting youth.Numbers always seem to pick up closer to practise games also! Tigers will be contending don’t worry about that!

1 premiership isn't exactly a dynasty....
Exactly smy! Just a year where retirements, movement back home, movement to higher competitions and movement up north have been prevalent. Not the first time it’s happened and I’m sure won’t be the last.In saying that we have recruited strongly and the boys can’t wait to have another crack at it!

Not much happening up here at tigerland just like everywhere else.Just waiting for an aflq initiative to refund junior and senior Regos for 2020 if no season to continue.I suppose like us they too are unsure.Certainly planning our financial modelling that this could be the case. Will be a totally different scenario at community level up here in the future imo with obviously less sponsorship dollars and avenues to raise revenue.Hopefully the volunteers are there! I’m pretty confident they will be.Maybe back to the good old days with minimal to no player payments, smaller coaching fees or even the old captain/coach to get value for money.Footy was awesome back then and will continue to be in the future.Just gotta be diligent and patient

gee I thought we were already in the period of low coaching payments... :)

8 week season with final 6 not sure if 3 weeks or 4 weeks of finals is what i'm hearing, Grand final will be the same weekend as currently booked in for.
2 weeks training before first game.
salary cap will be under 10k if not less for 8 week comp

Not hearing final six goal kicker but everything else is what we are hearing up here.2 weeks training prior to first game I reckon fine the longest pre season I’ve ever seen think we actually started before Richmond which is amazing when most of our blokes drink from Friday to Monday with little sleep over the summer months. In saying that they are fit and ready to go!Infact as a 49 year old so am I this self isolating and home schooling is doing my head in.Need to lose a fair bit of weight though and the grog doesn’t help!Footy a big part of plenty of people’s lives even up here however if no crowds allowed I’m not sure how it will work.Clubs rely on that especially as we don’t charge a gate.Intriguing couple of months ahead!

Bullshit comments like that don’t help us get back to footy. Not even close to true
Still a waiting game but at least seniors(in particular coaching staff) have some organising to do surrounding a return to training in early June.I c aflq are applying to have at least 60 on the track (20 in fwd half/ 20 in centre/ 20 in back half) which if granted will make training so much easier especially with regard to timing.A decision will be made on neafl and its players within the next fortnight with aflq footy operations boss thinking that players will be able to play wherever they wish. Also applications being made regarding crowd numbers on game days with players, umpires etc involved in game not being included in the stage 3 100 gathering.Indoor and outside gatherings at the venue are also being investigated.Id say we are on the move!

Wonder if you walked past coorparoo like I did tonight. Oval filled with players... won’t matter soon with clubs returning to training soon though.

Both high traffic area’s with players from many clubs in the area using the grounds. Lots of people using a facility and organised training with 10+ are not the same thing.

Both are council grounds.

Budgets are a bit tight in local footy for full time security at this stage unfortunately.

We have a facilities manager at Fisherman Rd that I think has some sort of security alert back in her office that goes off with every blade of grass that is stepped on. Considering there doesn't appear to be a mass outbreak in the south of Brisbane then no doubt a good thing for the community. Our "Giffin park" is the beach :)

How long have groups of 10 been allowed to train? Social groups of 10 were allowed to gather but no sanctiond training?

Yeah that's very true Wardy - I just read a directive from Barry Gibson stating that insurance doesn't cover any person who is injured during a club sanctioned training session until June 12. Must admit I wasn't aware of that myself - it is pretty confusing due to the different restrictions being put in place / removed on a regular basis. Confusing times tbh. I thought groups of 10 with no footys was ok...

That's it, socially 10 people could 'gather', bootcamps up to 10 people (under business restrictions ie: employment/income) but AFLQ rules was NO Training.. but 2 people could 'exercise ' ... very confusing. Thanks for the insurance info... I would have thought, as I recieved no 'pause of policy' info, once League fees were paid, insurance was covered

its not confusing. Directives from AFLQ have been incredibly clear.

NO training, none at all. Not in 2's and not in 10's. If 2 players wanted to get together for a kick themselves and organised themselves, then fine. If 10 blokes wanted to meet somewhere, also fine. But can't be sanctioned by, or have any involvement of the club or coaches at the club. So if the lights are on, then its obviously bloody got some club involvement!

This changes midday tomorrow, but anyone doing it before is a w***er that has put a return to footy for all of us at risk.
