Any news on any recruits that may have been brought over to any clubs? Any practices games ahead? Obviously Beenleigh have picked up Brodie Murdoch again as well as Albert proud which will help them out massively. Would assume Mayne will get a bunch of guys back that they lost to injury last year and will be right up there again. See Caloundra have some Practice matches against Maroochydore and Noosa which will be a good test. Springwood appear to be heading up to play Yeppoon similar to what Mayne did last year.

You would imagine short leash if allowed. But hopefully it might be the redemption of him. Gee Wayne Carey is allowed to commentate AFL footy still. Only difference bn him and Proud is the lawyer used I imagine...

Quite a few more details different id say & this only being one of many incidents.
Shouldn’t be registered & disappointing that Beenleigh would even entertain the option with there apparent focus on growing female footy.

Yeah it’s a talking point we wish we didn’t have to discuss! Hearing whispers the AFLQ May have refused Jono Pattons request to play also,not sure how true that is.

Love to know what those differences are!! I would say not overly dissimilar at all - Carey glassed his gf. Easily could have killed her. On more than 1 occasion as well. You can be a druggo bum with a collar and tie on as well.
 
100% it can be anyone, both heinous acts committed by both blokes. Carey should not get the airtime he does & is definitely in a privileged position to continue his career doesn’t make it right.

Proud’s act was particularly violent you must admit - fractured her skull (among other injuries) leading to amnesia issues & a month in hospital.
You’d get a life ban for that on a footy field without question.

Yeah thats all very true - my issue is with the hypocrisy around banning one bloke but another guy is feted and given "a second chance". Both acts could have killed the victims involved - very easily.

Look he has done his time not a good look but Everyone deserves a chance to prove that was a one off and has done all the right things since...

yeah but would you take that risk? All it takes is a bit of heckle from the crowd or a bit of chat from the opposition for him to lose it. He’ll be a great player for that footy club but can you trust him?

Beenleigh have a great task but if you get him happy and get him on the right path he will help The club rise.

Everywhere he’s gone he has improved that club.

Proud gives them that enforcer type through the midfield and big body and bit of experience that they have been lacking a little bit. That’ll no doubt help them, and if they decide to play Murdoch where they did when he played for them in 2020 up forward he gives them a key forward target that they have lacked the last couple years. Of course with Proud the issue is off the field and as you said it’ll be a great task for Beenleigh. From all reports he had to stand in front of the Womens team first and talk to them and be accepted by them.

Time will tell, let’s hope we see the best of Albert. No doubt plenty of rules around his return

Murdoch may be required to stand behind the footy with Jack James testing the QAFL waters at Sherwood. One of the best, if not the best key defender in the comp in 2021

Good on the club for making him do this - and good on him if he agreed to do it. I'm no fan of what he has done (obviously) but the doubles standards attached to Carey and his actions being excused under the guise of being an all time great is just ridiculous.
 
Good luck to them, but gee it seems an awkward spot for any of the girls who aren't comfortable - do they speak up and potentially be known as someone who "wouldn't let" him play? Are they expected to just leave their mates? Seems a tough spot to put the girls team in (assuming what's noted above is correct)

Have the Magpies picked up Jack James? Geez that is a very good pickup, he will be right at home at that level

Any of the other young guns from Beenleigh over there as well?

He has definitely done a great job of getting that club up to where they are now, and if they can keep that young talent around for a while they will be competing around the top of Div 1 for a while.
