Yes top prediction surprised by the ease and margin of Caloundra victory v Springwood but unsure of line ups.id predict they will play each other at same ground again in a fortnight.maroochy also impressive without bevan to smash a side vying for finals at yeronga.over course of year the Roos seem to function better with just one focal point in either Norman or bevan rather than when both play.mayne from all reports really competititive with Noosa kicking last 6 goals to flush them out
Not a bad prediction.

From what I know only Hooper was out of Springwood best group. Caloundra fielded a near full strength side.
Hard to say what mind, sets would be like when a dead rubber for u but didn't seem to worry maroochy and lesser degree Noosa. Think both of these sides will be tough to beat and must be warm favourites. Still think injuries could play a part and I heard roos lost 2 yesterday for season, not sure about Noosa.

Who are the winner's in the first week of finals
guys.
My tips are.
Caloundra to beat cooparoo 23pts
Maroochydore to beat the pumas 47pts

Caloundra to beat cooparoo by 34 points and Maroochydore to beat Springwood by 52 points Noosa have two to come back in with footy manager Mitch woods and ex captain tommy mckintrick unavailable last week both have had terrific seasons particularly woods.

Gee thats 2 good ins for Noosa in a weeks time.
Unfortunately for Maroochy lost a couple of good ones with bad injuries last week - Harry Wilson, a damn good footballer, bit of a role player this year and Bond who was just coming into really good form when it mattered and strengthened their midfield. Terrible to see/hear of blokes going down at this time of year.

Sunny Coast Footy has dominated comp. Noosa for Premiers

Interresting to notice no Merrett for the Panthers this week.
Injured or just not available???
Convincing wins to the roos and panthers.

A goal umpire being too officious got involved at the Roos v Springwood game yesterday. Ryan for Roos had a pee after warm up, just before the game very discretely, down on one knee next to goal post at northern end, no spectators in sight, but the goal umpire in position. Goal umpire notified fields at quarter time, conferred with AFLQ match manager, who made a phone call to head office. 5 mins into 2nd quarter he was red carded, out for game, reported for misconduct. Fortunately, as it was before half time, time served was accounted for and one match offer accepted and he can play next week. But really, considering no spectators saw it so no harm done, a warning to the player and captain at quarter time should have seen the end of it.
Ryan has had a terrific year and will poll well in league B&F, so look out for red faces at presentation night if he is ineligible due to this suspension.
BTW, Springwood didnt put up any fight and expect them to go out in straight sets, which will leave 3 SCoast teams to fight it out.

We were wondering where he went after quarter time, thought he must have been injured. We were also wondering why the second term took so long to get started, so that's why, mystery solved. Maroochydore too good for us yesterday, no argument at all. We get a couple of very good players back next week and at home with our season on the line don't write us off just yet!!

Who are the pumas looking at getting back for next week bunyip? Pringle of course from suspension.
Imagine the pumas will throw everything at Caloundra as they have had a good year and won't want to be out in straight sets.
Roos and Noosa should be a ripping game.

Yeah not sure. Although JR is a ripping bloke it is a reportable offence whether anyone sees it or not (except an official). Can't change rules bc no one takes offence..

Pretty sure Merrett is done with his media commitments re; the Brisbane Lions so will be a big in for panthers who have really been in great form over past 3 months.commonsence prevailed in the Jackson Ryan incident goal umpires should be seen but not heard.interesting that bevan went off half way through 3rd term and did not come on.had kicked 6 but maybe just a precausonary thing.noosa v Maroochydore be a cracking game and day overall with as usual a massive crowd in attendance

Noosa v Maroochydore as good a game as there will be this year in any comp I'm predicting. Maroochy will be itching to make their 3rd GF in a row and not having beaten the Tigers this year, what better way to start. Noosa on the other hand are looking very strong. Week off, all troops on deck, makes for a ripping game. Will be a good one in the magoos too. Great day of local footy at Weyba Rd - think a huge crowd with no AFL finals on either.

Down at Springwood it will be an interesting day with Springwood coming off a couple of big losses - would be expecting a very different outfit that Caloundra took on 2 weeks ago. Caloundra in good form and playing some excellent footy. Think there will be a good crowd in attendance as well and the weather is predicted to be a super day.

That happened in a grand final 15 years ago between Aspley and cooly. Cooly player was caught taking a slash and was sent off with another player who didn't go through interchange the way he should

My tips Noosa by 11 points in a see sawing affair and Caloundra by 17 points in a much more even contest than a fortnight ago leaving all 3 Coast sides still alive next week

Reckon there could be over 1000 people at Noosa tomorrow as well. Always a well supported club at the best of times but with a maroochy game plus beautiful weather, plus a 2nd semi, it is a perfect storm. Great for coAst footy.

At least everyone is aware of the repercussions now if they weren't already.

I reckon around 1500 at Noosa today tigers controlled game all the way through and rarely looked under threat their defence so composed and ruckman Coleman a standout Roos looked a tad rusty and a little underdone.great atmosphere at a real cauldron among two terrific sunny coast rivals great to see all 3 sunny coast coast sides still alive

Spot on. You could tell from the outset Noosa were a step above. There hands in close were terrific constantly drawing opponent and releasing man and spreading much harder and always had a man off back of contest to release and buy time. There forwards were on fire, in particular Jefferys and accuracy in front of goal kept mounting the pressure. Maroochydore fumbled, missed easy handballs and played dumb footy at times. Had the potential to seriously erupt when Fitzpatrick from noosa was knocked out in front of clubhouse and from what im told there was some crowd involvement after. I thought the umpires handled it well getting the game moving again. I understand there was no report made
Only 2 or 3 Maroochydore players could say they won there position, Dzufer and Gale never stopped trying, Mckenzie was ok in the midfield and Mallinder was clever up frd. Bevan shouldnt have played but still managed 4 goals on 1 leg! Noosa had winners everywhere, are well drilled and play a good brand of footy. Coleman comprehensively beat Simpson in the ruck, isles ran harder than anyone on the ground, Hill was class in the mid and most did their bit when needed. Whoever gets through next week will have there work cut out in the GF and would need everything to go right to win, Noosa have a wealth of experienced premiership players in their mix and yesterday would have dealt a harsh psychological blow to the Roos chances and the leaders will have the job of getting themselves up for this week. One positive Noosa's opp will have in the GF is that its not at Noosa! Massive crowd yday creating a volatile environment for mdore. Great local footy and im much happier to spend my hard earned at local footy than the afl.
