Annual UQAFC vs Redcliffe preseason matchup tmrw up in Dolphinville. Always a good contest, historically been pretty windy and a scrappy affair played in good spirit. Any other preseason action around the grounds? How's Lemke Road after last week? Four weeks till Rd 1..
Lemke Rd is honestly looking better than I’ve seen it in 30 years. Drained great and they mowed this morning, looks outstanding

Curious to know how the UQ and Redcliffe game went westermau5 ?

Wasn't able to get there on Saturday but heard UQAFC got up by about 6-8 goals in the Seniors.

Looks like Mayne play Springwood next Saturday in a six period full squad game; we play Springwood the following week at Lowe Oval.

Any other results or fixtures floating around?

Redcliffe had a number of guys out and seemed to have a huge amount of young guys
Correct. 8 x U17 players had a run. I think scores were close at half time including a 50m penalty goal to UQ and an amazing set shot from the boundary.

Rumours are a handful of Mt Gravatt players have moved over to Springwood?

Was the Mayne V Springwood game today as well?
Haven’t heard anything about the Mt Gravatt players heading over to Springwood.

Springwood did play Mayne today. 6 period game. First 3 was senior vs seniors. Springwood got up by a few goals. Both sides missing some of their best as you’d expect this time of year. 4th period Springwood reserves vs Mayne seniors then last 2 were reserves vs reserves and was tight as well.

Out for walk this morning and spotted big group of Mayne players doing a session at Windsor Park (Keith Beavis Oval). Looked fit and ready! One I think was L. Quin, back from a European sabbatical and driving standards! Keen to get around and watch some games this year

Sandgate & Springwood hit out today at Sandgate. 6 x 20min. First 3 were all Seniors, then after half time more and more Ressies. Most of the seniors did 3, with a few doing 4. Then all Ressies 5 & 6. Sandgate came out strong first quarter and I reckon had Springwood. They got a bit messy and untidy in 2 & 3 and Springwood stayed tidy and ended up getting Sandgate by 2 goals. Sandgate Ressies went very well and and looked to be in control for most of 5 & 6 and got over Springwood. Overall a good display of footy. Think Sandgate are going to go alright in Div 1. Certainly didn’t look out of place at all.

And QAFL has 3 too many.
Dont see 3 teams willingly leaving QAFL but. Other than Mt Gravatt. Could see Mt Gravatt coming down and 2 coming up from either north or south. Most likely north and the south comp all the teams seem quite happy tucked away down there, even though south is probably better quality.

I don’t think Mr Gravatt will go down willingly either if you listen to their socials. Point is there needs to be a criteria to be in a state league and there is a responsibility on AFLQ to provide suitable completions below and right now 7 in Division 1 isn’t right

Springwood being typical Springwood in the wet and kicking 13.23 to win by 50 against Moreton Bay at home. Concerning for Moreton Bay if it was dry to allow a team to have 36 scoring shots to 14.

Mayne got over Hinterland up there in what looked to be a mud battle. And UQ accounted for Caloundra up there as well in a low scoring match. Could only imagine Caloundra’s ground as well.

Sandgate come off the bye to play Mayne @Sandgate next week. Should be a good challenge for Sandgate straight up.

Very tough conditions at Caloundra yesterday, including a 15 minute lightning delay late in the 3rd quarter of the Seniors game. Think all clubs be thankful to have a week off now for Easter.

You can see the grounds on the stream - are all games live this year?

Caloundra at least looks to have grass on it!
