Ive heard from a good source that Redcliffe actually recruited for their ressies team pretty heavily this year.
Throwing around match payments of $35 Tigers dollars

I’d assume it would be a voucher to use over the bar/canteen?

Yeah Id imagine the canteen would be getting a workout after the game with all the Tigers dollars getting passed around.

Haven't heard anything about the seniors getting Tiger dollar payments, players like Bowles, Allison brothers, Jackson etc would be Tiger dollars rich.

I’m sure a carton in the rooms after a game is enough for a ressies side! From memory, the beer prices are pretty cheep at Redcliffe so I reckon you’ve been sold some fake news! Or I agree with Kath mandu - salty

Probably the best year they’ve had in the last 5 years..competitive in a lot of game and don’t think they have had 200 put on them yet
That big loss to zillmere last week really hurt them though

I don’t understand the issue here. There is a salary cap of $20k in Div 2 so if clubs are financially sustainable enough why not spend it?

I have no idea what is spent by clubs but as a hypothetical if you had 6 guys on $200 a game (that’s a fine payment BTW) for 14 games that still only equates to $16,800.

As far as I’m aware any money given as awards or payments to players are part of the cap, including ‘club dollars’.
Do you think a club would honestly spend over half the 20k per year on club vouchers for reserves players?
Redcliffe May be doing that, but with the above mentioned senior players I find it very doubtful..

How does the rest of the season unfold? Can Redcliffe be beaten? And surprise upsets? The top 5 would almost be locked in you’d think? Then it’ll be a battle for 6th with Jags, Swans and Pirates. It could all come down to Jags vs Swans in the last round!

Doesn’t matter who finishes 6,whoever it is will lose by 70-100 in week 1 of finals against the 3rd placed team
Positions 3-5 could be in any order I think
Can’t see the grand final being anything other then Redcliffe v Alex at the moment..Redcliffe the best side at the moment but Alex are closer to Redcliffe then the teams 3-5 are of Alex imo

Good win by the Pirates yesterday off the back of a competitive showing against Redcliffe last week. They look to be finding their grove a little.

Wynnum so close to causing the upset fantastic to see them competitive more often than not.

For me Yeronga the surprise of the comp this year most tipped them to be at the pointy end but I don’t know if many had them top 2 this far into the season after missing finals last year.

While Redcliffe the clear standouts I think the finals series is shaping to have some absolute cracking games in the lead up to the GF

Fair play to park ridge..they have strung together a couple of strong games in a row now
Kedron will be devastated by that loss after a strong 3 weeks against the other contenders around them and may have some implications on there ladder position at the end of the year
A lot of footy left to be played but that yeronga v Alex game in round 18 could ultimately be what decides 2nd place and a first week bye

Park ridge over Alex, Park ridge have seemed to find there straps last couple of weeks.

Been on a bit of a local footy hiatus this year but dropped in to watch the Pirates take on the Bombers - the missus wanted to check out the golden circle outlet so I snuck off for a bit. Park Ridge were probably better than the scoreboard showed but AH were a bit more polished moving forward. I like the look of the mean guy with the big moustache in the bombers forward line, reminds me of the gold old days.

Alex has a tendency to hit their straps at this time of the year which gives them great momentum coming into the finals series. Look out!

Looks like it’ll come down to Kedron, Pine Rivers, Jindalee and Park Ridge for that 5th and 6th position. A lot of ifs and buts before then though. Could make for an interesting first week of finals.

Boundary umpiring this sucks. Same pay as colts and colts is 20 flat quarters and quarters in this are typically 5-10minutes longer. still around $85 per game which is good tho but should be more than colts. Not related to the footy but thought i would say it still
