What’s the incentive to be in division 1 apart from saying we’re cool we play Div 1?

Redcliffe are in a sweet spot right now and blokes want to be a part of it. They way they attract players is impressive and hats off to who ever is responsible. What’s the incentive to be in division 1 apart from saying we’re cool we play Div 1?

Do you mean field umpires or boundary? Or both?Redcliffe are in a sweet spot right now and blokes want to be a part of it. They way they attract players is impressive and hats off to who ever is responsible.
Now from what I can tell the biggest extra you get from div 1 is you don't have to supply ressies umpires![]()

Ok I’ve changed my mind. League ressies umpires is well worth it!Redcliffe are in a sweet spot right now and blokes want to be a part of it. They way they attract players is impressive and hats off to who ever is responsible.

Don't get too excited they are still very inconsistent.Ok I’ve changed my mind. League ressies umpires is well worth it!
They were the hunted side last year aswell..if you read back to the previews last season just about everybody had them winning the comp and after beating Alex hills by 60 in round 1 it solidified them as the team to beatSo Redcliffe will be the hunted, rather than the hunters. Probably a nice change for them.
I think everyone staying the same this year but big changes next year apparently.Any word on the pirates going to Div 2 south?
Must be close to the 3 year mark where they turn everything upside down and make mass changesI think everyone staying the same this year but big changes next year apparently.
A little, more west thoughGympie to Yarabilby would be a great drive! Isn’t it further south than Beenleigh?
“Who knows” that’s the million dollar questions!Probably the reason Redcliffe stayed out for another year. Apparently everyone south of river will be in south competition next year and anyone on north side becomes north competition.
So not sure if that includes GC teams or not. Might be a central competition with
Alex, Wynnum, Kenmore, Yeronga, Moorooka, Pirates, Beenleigh and maybe an Ipswich team , Jindalee etc but think they after a minimum 8 team competition. Not sure what they have planned for Northside as might be some coast sides coming in or back from
Div 1.
Or maybe Div 1 getting a face lift as well from North to GC. Who knows?
Kawana definitely staying in Div 3 in season 2026“Who knows” that’s the million dollar questions!
Is it Marcellin and Kawana want to go to Div 2? I can’t see Hinterland or Caloundra dropping back, even though the Gympieland Blue Cats have taken a decent chunk from the blues.
Not a hope in hell caloundra goes to div 2“Who knows” that’s the million dollar questions!

Sorry, forgot to give clarification for those - future ambitions to go to Div 2.Kawana definitely staying in Div 3 in season 2026
Not a chance! Not with the new facilities. I think they’re only going to grow. Not a hope in hell caloundra goes to div 2
Can almost guarantee it will only be the pirates going to Gympie and no return serve. They are such an outlier so I think that is a reasonable outcome (I am from the pirates) but for context Redcliffe to Yara is 80km while Yara to tweed is 105 and Cooley is 86 which are the two most southern clubs at present and while I agree that a restructure is needed it needs to be more than just the pirates going south as having to do the m1 stretch from Beenleigh to Helensvale every second week is a punishment no club in seq should have to endureThe only change for 2026 is Moorooka joining.
Some 320km travel from Gympie to Yarrabilba, and on our bermuda Bruce Highway.
AFLQ has flagged the North South split in 2027 will be wherever it needs to be to have same club numbers in both. Purely geographically based.
