When do the Woodsmen start training? How do they fixture etc if they wait that long?
That’s the exact reason why we were given to November 30 to hit the milestones to get the licenceHow do they fixture etc if they wait that long?
I understand the need to present certainty in player numbers to ensure a new team will prevail for the season ahead however it cannot possibly take 4 months to perform a fixture. That’s the exact reason why we were given to November 30 to hit the milestones to get the licence

TBH as much as a head **** as it was hitting the milestones especially the player numbers it has done us a massive favour. We’ve been able to source and secure sponsorships order uniforms etc and are way ahead of where would be in Feb/march. Team is now training with certaintyI understand the need to present certainty in player numbers to ensure a new team will prevail for the season ahead however it cannot possibly take 4 months to perform a fixture.
Glad it has worked out for you guys. Hopefully the lads get stuck in and you have a great season.TBH as much as a head **** as it was hitting the milestones especially the player numbers it has done us a massive favour. Thanks first season is always going to be tough especially against the big boys from D3. But it’s exciting nevertheless and we honestly believe it will gain some serious momentum over the next few years. A womans team and Saturday footy is our next goalGlad it has worked out for you guys. Hopefully the lads get stuck in and you have a great season.
The trip for Coomera (most northern GC team) to Coolangatta would be only 40 or so minutes (if good traffic). The drive from Redlands to Fernvale would be over an hour. Don’t forget to add Ipswich Eagles, Cats and Greater Springfield in that drive for Redlands and vice versa. Which are around about the hour mark as well.Central south will have 15 or more teams if 3 teams get the 2nd sides up. Seems too many. It’s still a massive drive between Fernvale and Victoria Point.
I think Ormeau are Gold Coast also. The trip for Coomera (most northern GC team) to Coolangatta would be only 40 or so minutes (if good traffic). And for the first point. Either Moorooka, Eagles and any other team with a second side has to have that side go north. Or else you’ll have a comp where you play everyone once only.
Ah yes totally forgot about Ormeau. That’s still a decent drive down to Cooly.I think Ormeau are Gold Coast also.
As I understand Southport and Pac Pines are looking at 2nd sides as well. Where do their 2nd sides play? They can’t push to Brisbane South to make it approaching 20 teams.
There are pros and cons in having to have a deadline for numbers in the Friday night space more so in December. Because I would be surprised if struggling teams like Ipswich Cats would have provided adequate numbers by December. If that’s the requirements. So I guess the question above as to why teams needed to have their house in order by December is rather relevant judging by last few posts. Comp
Manager is going to need time to sort through it all.
Or maybe they considered all these matters prior to announcing the new structure? So I guess the question above as to why teams needed to have their house in order by December is rather relevant judging by last few posts. Comp

A few years ago, might have been the half year after Covid, Ferny Grove did a last minute gather with Mavericks. Not sure how successful it was but it got them a team that year. Having some surety is important but also having some flexibility for these matters may be required again for this season.Only new licenses had to have lists sorted. Will be interesting how many are in trouble once it comes to pulling squads together for the strugglers.
I’m sure they did otherwise the options would not have been put on the table and yes it was only new licences that needed numbersOr maybe they considered all these matters prior to announcing the new structure?
My mistake. I thought there was confusion about where 2nd teams play. Can you tell me what that answer is?I’m sure they did otherwise the options would not have been put on the table and yes it was only new licences that needed numbers
Round 1 is scheduled for weekend after Easter, Friday, 25th April (ANZAC Day)Is there any idea on season start dates?
Which it won’t be, so it will either be the Friday after 2/5 or the Friday week before Easter 11/4 with a 2 week bye.Round 1 is scheduled for weekend after Easter, Friday, 25th April (ANZAC Day)
That and/or Wednesday was floatedWouldn't put it past them to start the season on a Thursday
