Sherwood actually won 2 games. One of which was a big win against Moorooka.
I also don’t disagree with the idea that they might be well below where I and others predicted them. But perhaps new coach might coax some players to come back or move to Sherwood. I think Thommo 42 needs to make a comeback and show em how it’s done!
That’s a huge turn around from struggling to get a team each week last year to 60 or so as you say. Surprised you didn’t join in on the double Friday night teams. But good luck to them this year and the new coach.Definitely an unknown quantity this year, hopefully a bit of a bounce back.
Pretty much all of the 'old guard' has now moved on, pretty much everyone that played in the 2021-22 flags are well over 40 now, and while the mind might be willing the bodies are less so.
They will be a genuine 3rds with blokes missing out on Colts and Ressies playing, and then the balance to come from a huge list of about 60 blokes! We have heaps of young guys from the University colleges who are training with us and keen to take up the game, so not much experience, but plenty of youthful enthusiasm.
Would love to make a comeback, but I tear a hammy just rolling footies at u11 training unfortunately!
Look out whoever has Sherwood in Div 3 when they have the bye in the QAFL.Definitely an unknown quantity this year, hopefully a bit of a bounce back.

I agree that the “2 x Friday night teams is the devil” had definitely been the message for a long time.consistent message we have been given is that you're not allowed 2 sides...
That message hasn't changed, despite the obvious exceptions.
I don't really have the energy to fight to get another side up given its against the rules as we have repeatedly been told for 5+ years...
Which is weird as the 4 new comps were made based on locality. So not only are Coorparoo an exception in the two teams playing each other but they are an exception in the whole premise of the local based comps.Coorparoo are split into North & South. PAC Pines, Moorooka & Eagles all play their own teams
Wouldn’t be allowed to anyway as it’s a more then 2 grade dropmore likely nobody from the QAFL squad plays in the bye weeks, they will only play when left out of the team during scheduled rounds (or incumbent in the team I guess)
Well if you play even one senior game in div 2, Div 1 or QAFL you cannot play. However if you play ressies in Div 2, 1 and/or QAFL you can play Friday night.Wouldn’t be allowed to anyway as it’s a more then 2 grade drop
That is my understanding tooWell if you play even one senior game in div 2, Div 1 or QAFL you cannot play. However if you play ressies in Div 2, 1 and/or QAFL you can play Friday night.

Well we can see where the clusterfluck of decisions have been coming from. Didn’t you previously need a ‘please explain’ if you wanted to move to Friday nights and had played seniors in the same year?Thats what the rules state, and when Baz Gibson was in charge at AFLQ it was enforced very very strongly.
However I think you'll find the bloke running the comp last year was pretty loose on it and just made it up as he went.
We encountered blokes who had played QAFL seniors running around against us, when we politely enquired about it he had swallowed some excuse and just said 'too bad, I'm allowing it"
The Sandgate boys play tonight and Saturday. Looks like all the north teams are playing tonite.Well we can see where the clusterfluck of decisions have been coming from. Didn’t you previously need a ‘please explain’ if you wanted to move to Friday nights and had played seniors in the same year?
Round 1 starts for some tonight with Moorooka’s second side taking on Eagles 1. But I believe Collingwood Park V Springfield will be the game to watch in Brissy South. Glasshouse V Hinterland will be a local affair and one to watch in SC. Not a look to choose from in Brissy North but I think Mayne V Sandgate will be packed as they also play each other in Div 1 the next day. And GC comp I think Southport V Ormeau will be a very ‘talkative’ game.
Friday night ‘kick and giggles’ is back!
Competition integrity not high on the agenda obviously.Thats what the rules state, and when Baz Gibson was in charge at AFLQ it was enforced very very strongly.

I love the kick and giggle BP, nearly as much as Freddy who is a Friday night footy connoisseur.Well we can see where the clusterfluck of decisions have been coming from. Didn’t you previously need a ‘please explain’ if you wanted to move to Friday nights and had played seniors in the same year?

Great to hear. Kawana will be very competitive if they got that close to CaloundraHuge night last night at the Nest. Big crowd saw a great contest between the Panthers and the new Eagles. Panthers got up by 5 points in a spirited contest. Can see a real local derby rivalry building between these 2 clubs. Great to see the Kawana boys in the senior comp.
Plus Kawana potentially eyeing their first win v Narangba??2 massive games on the Sunshine Coast Friday night. I’m going Jets in an upset and Maroochydore to hold on against a very competitive Glasshouse.
