We’ve had a few players literally fall ONE stat short. Just this year against Geelong, Mayne was one tackle short too.

Yeah, I know he'd be good for the mark count. He's hit double figures for tackles twice in his career so far, which shows he can maybe do it.

So many players just fall down in the marking area. I was thinking someone like Brodie Grundy my give it a shake but he didn't hit double figures in marks all last year.

Only four games ever with double digit marks, and one with double digit tackles (10, then a 9, then nothing else over 7). He's not really a tackling machine.

Is two off the closest anyone has got this year? Besides Brodie there's Rockliff in Round 1 (2 tackles), Cripps in Round 4 (2 marks), Duncan in Round 8 (2 tackles), and Ziebell in Round 9 (2 tackles) that I've seen.

Early in his draft year i thought West Coast may have been a chance to recruit him in the early teens. But then he went ballistic in u/18s and genuinely hasn't slowed down.
