Having a cable run through the kitchen, living room, a corridor and 2 bedrooms would look terrible and probably annoy the **** out of me.

LOL

I was frustrated because they teams were so unbalanced.

I sent you a friend request, but my wireless connection drops out about every 30 seconds and freezes the game. Makes it really difficult to play.

Does anyone know how long/hard it would take to hardwire a computer that is about 20 metres away?

You can run cat5 up to 150 metres before signal degradation, if you don't want it on the floor, either run it through the roof or under the house.

This seems alright for ~$20

Go to a electrical wholesaler like http://www.lawrenceandhanson.com.au, you might be able to get a brand new one for the same price. (You don't want to run a large cable to find out it's got damaged pairs)

Yeah definitely buy new.

I got mine from a place called I.T. Warehouse and it was about $15. They are pretty cheap really.

I did join just now, I've been trying to get an invite for some time now with no luck. It would be greatly appreciated if you would invite me.

Thanks again

I don't mind waiting, I've been trying to get into this beta since it started. Whats another day or two? As long as I get a chance to try it out and maybe make some suggestions to them before it's release. If not, the search continues .

I just checked computer parts land's green guide. They claim to be the 'cable specialists', but I can't see any prices around. I will give them a ring first because I've bought a lot of stuff from them in recent times.

Dick Smith has 5 metre cables for like $40. :thumbsd:

Nah **** dick smith, look up an electrical wholesaler in yellow pages like the link I put up.

Yeah, it's the way to go. Never buy parts (or even electronics in general) from places like Harvey Norman with their inflated prices.
