Strangely I'm not disappointed. I've thought the cliff would come at some point given our injuries and bringing back injured players against a strong fully fit team rang the bell.

It'd be a pleasing effort if we can get over the line next week but I wouldn't be super confident against either of the other 2 teams who are hungry for success.

Saw Lachie go down in front of us - could see straight away by his reaction wasn’t good. Kudos to all the Lions supporters who came to support the boys. Good on Rayner for withstanding the crap from the Geelong supporters down their end. Geelong supporters are the worst wingers. We were clearly out played tonight - tough night.

What can you say.

Lacked energy and the worst skill execution I've seen from us since the Leppa days.

Not disappointed because we never had any hope in hindsight.
Home from the game and. Can say that if that looked bad on tellie for all the fans in QLD, I can guarantee it was 10 times worse at the game.

martinson, I’m glad you mentioned Leppa. It seems Fages found Leppitsch’s playbook in an old locker at the club and decided to give it a try. The Leppitsch ‘Run, Gun, Turn it Over and We’re Done’ game plan was on full display tonight and it was as horrible now as it was then.

That's strange because Fages said we overhandballed in the press conference almost as if that wasnt his instruction.

So weird

But good to know it was all fages fault. We can give Daly his role and get back to winning premierships

I think your pregame posts angered the footy gods 3kz. Back to the drawing board so that you may please them prior to our next game.

Think their positioning to shut down out ball movement and corridor kicking was a game plan that worked very well

I think that Scott had a long time to study Brisbane and that his players were well drilled to counter our corridor tactics. He's not generally well rated around here but we were out coached and well out played.

I was taking some artistic licence, it would be even more troubling if they weren’t playing to instructions and decided to turn that rubbish on in spite of coaching directions.

I have a few players to sacrifice in order to appease them.

Obviously they did it better than anyone we’ve faced for a while. They completely shut down our ball movement for essentially the whole game.

It takes a lot of hard, running and discipline but it's possible

I think before the Crows, Collingwood game they showed a statement that teams generally don't win finals from ball movement out of the back half and a lot of that has to do with the better teams pressuring and shutting down ball movement the way they did tonight

It's just how you win finals

Imagine winning a game, comfortably.
In all facets.
Walking into a prelim healthy.
But still angry over Rayner getting a couple free kicks cause deep down it still keeps you up at night that he kicked the sealer on his opposite from 50. Smug

It is very hard to be a Geelong fan.

Oh well; reload and go again.

Hard to be disappointed when I didn’t give us much hope. Too many frontlines out, no Joe and beginning to think it’s not our year.

Would be bitterly disappointed to go out in straight sets, like we did for years in a row, so hoping we can get up next week, but don’t like our chances against the Pies.

Still a bloody good effort through all our adversity this year and draw to make a PF, but we’ve got to win a final.

Just reload for 26 which we should be a good shot.

I felt pretty flat after Collingwood beat us in the 2003 Qualifying Final, but we bounced back and the rest is history.

It’s the best part about tonight. They’re genuinely still upset about it.

I’ve never heard Gerard Whatley that upset in comms before and he couldn’t hide it. It was involuntary.

At least Huddo kept his composure.

Went to the game..Cats should of won by more

We went for the impossible kick to a 1 on 3 all the time.
Then just watched cats players walk past.
Said before I say again we have too many players who do not tackle. Dunks cannot tackle every player on the field. So so so many players instead of tackling just heard a player.
No idea why we did not have Rayner in the centre more or try something.

Gallop young although him and Day forward does not work.. Was out marked all night.
You think one of them subbed off for speed and a chance in the last.. Nope Levi instead

We prob beat Freo/Suns next week then the pies beat us as they have 4 extra green players and can tackle

My favourite part is they maintain the stance that Joel Selwood didn't spend his entire career playing for free kicks and getting them.

I suspect they needed Cam deep to provide a marking target as Day and Gallop aren’t that and Morris was being sat on.
