Smith's role is vital to the team, shuts down a small forward brilliantly. We have too many runners in half back, we need to get tighter in defence
I agree. Smith and Reid are auto selections if fit but Armstrong's performance was very good imo. Made good decisions.

If we're on form then Jetta is the one who goes out, Armstrong to the middle. Do we keep hoping Jetta clicks back into form though?

Reid and Smith for Walsh and Grundy maybe. LRT to the back line is the only option we really have.

A part of me feels like Morton would be more valuable to the forward line (that needs an injection of something) than maybe having that extra defender in Mal or Armstrong. Again, I wish Horse had given Mitch a full game against the Dogs like I had vehemently argued for, but there you go.

Jetta deserve to be booted from the side for a succession of shithouse games, but the sub vest is an acceptable compromise. Hanners has been pretty deplorable too I might and Parker still hasn't got back to his early season form so we need our second tier mids to lift.

I think the situation we are in at the moment, Horse needs to put the trigger and make some decisive plays. I think our recent demise has something to do with his conservatism within games on and on the selection table. His response to opposition spare men in defense has come across as non-existent and the top teams are killing us becasue of it.

I prefer the forward set up to consist of 2 permanent KPF and one rotating ruckman. 4 talls isn't working for us. If we could take a contested mark I would agree with the approach, but we aren't so going a little smaller and bringing in more running types who can play small and rove the ball might work better.

It might also get rid of our midfield's tendency to bomb it long with hope and encourage up to be a little risky and play that surging footy we've seen. We look our best when our mids are running the ball, not when they've kicked long.

Big, big game, but I really hope we don't die wondering. Come on Horse change it up a little.

Also, can we stop worrying about the sub. Parker didn't do much when he came on and our midfield was smashed throughout the day. Having Parker on to add the extra rotation for the first 3 quarters would have helped a bit.

Still think it's not an important decision. What's important after today is getting or midfield/forward line sorted. We were smashed today in the middle and had no idea going forward.

Getting the sub right can be worth at least a couple of goals.

Pure guess. No statistics to back that up and there is no such thing as getting the sub right or wrong imo. Many wanted a midfielder as the sub, they got their wish today, and it didn't really help much. Or maybe it did because we came back a bit in the last? Or maybe we wouldn't have been smashed prior if we had Parker as a rotation for the majority of the match? Who knows?

You can get the sub wrong IMO. When it's raining I don't want to see Seaby sitting there in the green vest with a stupid look on his face (because he's never seen rain before). I want a moore, hanners, parker type. If we're going up against Nic Nat & Coxy & co. I don't want to have bird as the sub I want some LRT or Everritt action damn it. Timing the sub is just as vital as the sub selection IMO. Big game this week coming. I live in Adelaide and there's a sense over here they've (Crows) just been holding back the last couple of weeks leading up to finals. I hope that's not the case. I also hope they catch a cab or bus I've been in and I can somehow infect them with this horrific cold I've had the last couple of days. I will do my darndest........

I thought Armstrong was actually very good.

How long can Jetta keep being carried is the question now imo. Time for the sub vest next week.

I agree, only one to hit a target all day!

My ins: Reid, Smith & Morton
My outs: Walsh, Malceski & Pyke/Grundy

I'm not sure on Grundy's record but I reckon he'll receive a reprimand if eligible for a discount. If not, he'll be out instead of Pyke.

Well subbing Goodes off and Everitt on in that Geelong game won us that match. Categorically, Everitt was the right player for the right moment (we all know that even if Goodes got that mark he would have sprayed it ). Further Seaby being our sub last year R1 lost us the match almost certainly.

Subs don't always change the flow of a game or make a decisive play, however the fact remains that they can. I think there is validity to the notion of choosing the right sub. It's not all guess work in that if you pick a versatile quality player, you will most likely get a better outcome than if you picked an extra running defender as your sub when your forward line is severely lacking. There is a certain art to picking the sub and generally its about finding a player that allows you to cover quiet a few bases without dropping much quality. That's why we've had so much success with Rohan and Everitt in the role; more so than any other players.

Why do you want to drop Pyke?

I don't, I really don't! Purely making room for Morton and Pyke can be replaced by using LRT as second ruck. It would be unfortunate but I can't think of who else could go. I would sub Jetta

It's your duty this week to locate Dangerfield and kiss him on the lips. Your club needs you.

FML just found out I have a 21st of a good friend on Saturday night. I would feel bad not going given we've been friends for a while, but there is a massive part of me that wants to sit at home in my living room and watch these ****ers (in all likelihood) lose.

I need the wisdom of the Swans faithful to help me decide. What do I do!?

Edit: Please be in the afternoon!
