Last years QF team against Geelong:
B: Cameron Sutcliffe, Zac Dawson, Paul Duffield
HB: Lee Spurr, Luke McPharlin, Stephen Hill
C: David Mundy, Ryan Crowley, Tendai Mzungu
HF: Hayden Ballantyne, Chris Mayne, Nathan Fyfe
F: Zac Clarke, Matthew Pavlich, Michael Walters
FOL: Aaron Sandilands, Matt de Boer, Nick Suban
I/C: Michael Barlow, Lachie Neale, Danyle Pearce
SUB: Tom Sheridan

So if the changes this week are Fyfe, Sivagni for Suban, MJ, I reckon we are a better off team from last year with:
IN: Tabs, Crozier, Neale and Silvagni
OUT: Deboer, Suban, Sheridan and McPharlin
Gee, when you look at it like that. Except for mcp (who wasn't 100% anyway), that's a decent upgrade.

Media keep referring to a Syd forward line of tipp, bud, dives, and reid but with pav, tabs and sandi/clarke (and son, ballas, and mayne and poss croz there too) up the other end, would be surprised if Reid wasn't required to help out richards. Certainly won't have the option this time to double/triple team pav.

Going to be a good game.

Ibbo missing last year as well as Johnno??

We keep talking that the wet will assist us (it will no doubt with their talls), but what we need more importantly is some serious 2 way running of our bigger mids and clog up that back 50. When the ball then hits the ground, we spread and let our mini's go nuts.

Rinse and repeat

Reid might be Sydney's only option to run with Taberner who is brimming with confidence and looking very lively.

Looking at Seppo's list, I think it's safe to say we had a better team now than we had last year.

We are have dropped MDB and likely Suban for upgrades in Crozier and Taberner.

Sutcliffe, Neale, Hill, Sandi and Pav are better versions of themselves compared to this time last year.

Spurr lose some form compared to last year. Mayne lose his offensive touch, though it can be argued he's on his way back.

We lose a fair chunk of defensive prowess with MacPharlin out, but if I remember correctly he was underdone the same time last year too. I'll also argue that Silvagni have improved compared to last year, so still a loss overall, but no as bad.

Everyone is probably going to focus and talk about our manic pressure. I suspect if it doesn't rain, it'll be more like a shootout like the one we had with Hawthorne. I am ready to conceded that it is possible that Buddy or Tippett may kick a bag against us, but our forwards should be able to score enough to more than compensate for it, as long as we can bloody kick straight.

We have enough bigger bodies in our team to thrive in greasy conditions, but ultimately we need to get the ball through the big sticks more times than Sydney. De Boer is going to add nothing to our scoring potency.

Finals do become a more contested game, but IMO we're going to benefit more from keeping Crozier in the team and relying on Fyfe, Barlow, Mundy, Mzungu etc to win the ball. If we were lacking inside types, I'd definitely be all for bringing MDB in.

Lets be straight, I have been talking up Crozier all year, especially his attack on the ball albeit he is still too easily shrugged off. But I think there is a fair chance that Ballas and Crozier are going to be like spinning wheels in the mud if this game remains really wet. Ballas has spent most of his time on the ground (in previous wet games) just terrible at keeping his feet, I think this may happen to Crozier, in which case they will both be of no scoring potency. I really hope I am wrong and Crozier being from Melbourne is a mud lark but Ballas frustrates the living day lights out of me in the wet and I don't want two of them.

Mundy has also down on his last years output but Ballas is improved recently.

he sure was down in his first half against port coz cornes was playing illegal tactics on him. and with fyfe back hopefully tags goes on him and sets hill and mundy free,

mind you hill had a poor game

I thought Hill had the Cornes tag?

Could Mora's big body come into selection play? Sub possibly?

Moves very well and in the wet will still get the ball 50-60m
