I reckon any decision regarding the inclusion of Tabs will take the weather into consideration, so at this point in time he's not playing.
I was going to say why didn't we pick Friday night insread another rainy game, abd then saw the conditions we worse for Friday night!

Fortunately in recent weeks the 7 day forecast has predicted the exact opposite of the actual conditions. So next Saturday could be fine and 28 degrees.

***** either Griff if fit or Clarke despite his shizen game today. Or then were down to Hannath or Taberner/APearce who will need to help with Dawson to chop out Sandi. Against Sydney I think this is manageable given Pyke & Tippett isn't a great combo although Tippett is improving as a ruck.
I think if Griff doesn't come up Alex Pearce gets the start. He gives his absolute all in comparison to Clarke and he's just so skilful for his height, particularly with the ball on the ground where he almost always at least halves a contest. Some of his scrapping when the ball was on the deck today was just great.
Agree that DeBoer deserves a start. He's won me over of late, his kicking has been decent and he's been winning a decent amount of ball.

Thought Duffield looked in pretty good touch today. I'm starting to lean towards putting him in the team as I think his beautiful kicking could come in handy in the finals.

Impressed with tabs today but would love to see him have a similar impact over longer. Seems to always start well and then drifts away but his pressure was better up the ground than it was previously. Looks better up forward than Alex though Alex does give more versatility.
Tabbs started well but as usual went quite as game went on. Think that AP gives us more flexibility in that he can go back or forward.

Sydney likely to be missing Kieran Jack next week along with Parker and Smith. Buddy still does not look right - zero goals as at 3/4 time.

What's up with Nick Smith? I didn't know he was out. This is a massive advantage if he doesn't play.

What's the chance of Sandi playing solo ruck, is he up to it nowadays? With Griff's injury, Clarke out of form, and Hannath not being that great, coupled with the fact we're only up against Mike Pyke, could we just pick another runner instead?

We've never gone in with only 1 ruckman, so I can't see us starting now.

We don't really need that flexibility though. We have 3 tall defenders already. What we need is a tall forward.

Yeah, but against Hawthorn in the GF? He'll get pummelled.

Alex Pearce however wasn't even dropped (injury management)

Says who?

Kind of coincidental that A. Pearce got injured the moment all our other KPD's were fit, and then magically came good again in time to play in a meaningless match where we rested most of our best 22.

Don't you think?

Also note that AFAIK, A. Pearce being injured is just an invention of this board. He was listed as "omitted" by the club. I think a lot of people here just refuse to believe that Ross Lyon prefers Dawson to him.

It seems pretty likely that Taberner is more likely to get a game next week than Pearce as long as Dawson, McPharlin and Johnson are all available.

I support this as well. Tabs really impressed me in this game and was our only consistent forward target. He moved well, took some great grabs and should have ended up with 4 or 5 goals. Tabs is the perfect balance for Pav as well.

Still not convinced. Always a Should, Would or Could with Tab's but never a Did. I want him to come on as much as anyone but I must be missing something.

I have a funny feeling one of our better players will miss. I hope ballas doesnt come straight in. No confidence in his ability to either pick up the ball or use it at the moment.

Ballatyne Pavlich A Pearce
Mayne Taberner Walters
Hill Fyfe D Pearce
Ibbotson Dawson Sutcliffe
Johnson McPharlin Spurr

N Smith looks a good chance to miss, I definitely wouldn't want to play on Walters or Ballas with dodgy hamstring.

This is one of the few matches where I think our forward line is significantly stronger than there back 6, especially if Nick Smith misses.
Ted Richards and Grundy have struggled this year, so a forward line with 3 talls will stretch them.

Our back 6 will be as good as ever, but there forward line will challenge us. If Franklin, Tippett, Reid are all firing they will be a big challenge.
Lucky for us Franklin has a bad back, and Tippett's from has been up and down.

I think we have their match in the midfield (especially with Parker out and Pyke struggling), and with the game at home it should be an easy 3-4 goal win.

So why didnt AP play WAFL when omitted?
