Unofficial Preview Qualifying Final Early Thoughts: Sydney v GWS

With a week off until the finals I thought I'd get the ball rolling as our 2016 finals series will kick off with a HUGE (at least for footy in Sydney) game against our cross-town rivals who will be playing in their first ever final.

The GWS forward line will be a handful as Patton, Cameron and Stevie J kicked 10 between them against Norf and they have a very strong midfield.

Also, while many of the Giants players have never played in a final, they do have a number of experienced players, with a line up including premiership players Heath Shaw, Steve Johnson and Shane Mumford (sigh).

On our side, Mills in for Marsh would be the only change I would expect to see.

I'm a bit nervous about this matchup. Would be much less nervous if it was at the SCG.

Hopefully they have nerves about their first finals game to make it a bit easier.

We're playing a side with no finals experience compared to us who've made every final series bar 1 for the last 13 years. As much as it sucks not being on the SCG, we should be fine.

Anz is not as wide, maybe it helps us

I dont mind the melts GWS doing well causes

I respect them as an opponent, but their wins away from home havent been that great, not taking away from what they have done and they also play fearless footy, but we should win this one

Let's be honest. If we are good enough we win. If we don't win, we weren't good enough, we reload and go again the following week. The question mark for us would be how the young kids cope. Let us not forget, we are a young team, despite the media talking about the seasoned swans. The advantage is, so are GWS.

Naismith won't get suspended. He lets go before the player contacts the ground.

Marsh doesn't really play tall..... I could see laidler getting a game with Patton playing like he is. Cameron/Patton/Lobb is a tall forward line.

We should win, but even if we lose I'd be very confident about the prospect of playing Geelong or Hawthorn in a prelim at the 'G.

We should of beaten them twice, injuries hurt that second time

I have grown in respect for them, but my feeling is they are a chance to go in straight sets

I thought I would try it out to see how amusing it was. Confirmed, not amusing.
Don't know what all those Hawks flogs have been getting excited about mentioning it every 3 minutes.
