Game is fantastic btw, not sure how anyone could score it 4/10 unless they just really don't like TPS / Sci-fi / story-based games.

Jeff Gertsman from Giant Bomb didn't even have TLOU in his top 10 games for 2013 so I think he just hates the genre.

I guess some people don't like the TV aspect (which can be skipped anyway).

I am a bit of a Remedy "fanboy" played all their games and loved them, and with references in this game made to Max Payne and Alan Wake I'm loving the fan service.

Are you playing on Xbox One?
If so how does the game perform on there.
My PC is no where near capable of gaming so console for me.

Performs flawlessly, game looks really good.

The time effects look very cool, and each area is given an immense amount of detail.
Haven't noticed any slow down in frame-rate, although it's only at 30fps.

Hey cool, Lance Reddick! :D

Edit: a couple parts in. I think I'll enjoy this. Sci Fi and physics are right up my alley. Shooting feels solid and liking use of real actors. Not up to any live action parts but I have my weekend planned. Been so long but feels good to be playing around on the Xbox again.

Apparently the PC version is a mess. Lots of performance issues and glitches. Desperately needs a patch.

Best to just get it on console.

Just watched the first cut scene thing at end of act one. Didn't realise it would be so long. Don't mean that in a negative way but just don't play/watch when you're a bit drowsy other wise you might doze off a couple times like me lol.

I'm really enjoying the combat. Maybe should have put it on hard since it's easy to feel godlike with all the powers at your disposal. Then again it was only first act after all. Will be interesting to see how much variation there is in story with different choices. Developers like to bung on all the time how diverse their user choice narration is but more often than not it really isn't.

Just finished it. A bit short which is a shame. The shooting and powers were pretty cool. As a sci fi fan I liked the story, it started and finished strong but IMO felt a bit thin through the middle. There wasn't enough to do with the choices though. The choices basically come down to a few moments they call junctions and all it does is slightly change the live action cut scenes, the occasional in game reference and put some different collectables around. For something so based on the intricacies of time travel this is a bit of a missed opportunity. Though being based on time manipulation it provided a few cool platforming sections. I actually liked the live action cut scenes. They are normal sitcom length so maybe not for everyone but no where near as cheesy as I thought they may have been. Could probably thank the cast of names like Lance Reddick, Aidan Gillen, Domonic Monaghan etc for that.

Game looked and performed flawlessly though (on XB1) and I think the 7.5-8/10 reviews are fair. In terms of like for like comparisons (which were done a little in this thread) I would say it's very much like Infamous: Second Son. Runs and looks well, third person action/shooter with some neat abilities, worth a play through but will fall short of being an absolute hit.

And that's my two cents worth. :thumbsu:

Gee, this game is fantastic.
Was away for a week, so only just got to finish it.

I can't fault it! The story is absolutely brilliant and really gets the brain going trying to work out all the time travel. I loved reading all the extra bits and pieces, it adds so much. A lot of cool moments throughout and the gunplay is so much fun!

Given the absolute deathly silence this game is receiving on the web, I'll call it the most underrated/underappreciated game of the year.

What a shame it's an Xbox exclusive, so many people missing out.

Picked this up over a week ago and finished it on Monday. Really surprised me, I hadn't heard much about it at all, knew it was a XB1 exclusive so thought why not.

Loved the story and the 3-4 episodes you get to watch, made the whole thing feel that much better. It was getting me thinking the whole time, I never understand the time travel stuff though, so I had a hard time trying to work out this and that, but the gunplay never got old and the powers you have are pretty damn awesome.

Not a game I'll play again but definitely worth the money spent IMO. Solid game.

Just finished this. Very good game. Hopefully will get more exposure now that its on steam.

Really enjoyed using the powers he has and they were actually useful in the game too. Well most of them.

Should have made it a bit longer though and explored Hatch's story but im guessing they left that for the sequel even though the pretty much gave away his big secret.

I liked the episodes too I thought they added quite a bit to the story.

Really enjoyed it. The narrative was one of the more ambitious I've seen in a videogame.

The combat was fun and I wish they'd included some sort of horde mode so that you could utilise the powers a little more.

It's a shame that game was so poorly optimised for PC. While the game had some neat visual effects it's not in the upper echelon of PC games in terms of graphics and shouldn't be using the sort of resources that it was.

Picked up recently as well on XB1 for $50.
Really good from what i've played so far.
The tv episodes flesh out the story as well.

Did the same, I purchased it for $39 on the weekend at Target. So far it seems pretty bloody good.

Some of the quick travel ext. reminds me a little of Infamous: Second Son

Very fun, but I just knew I wouldnt understand the ending in a time travel game, and sure enough, I didn't.
Yeah I just finished it theother week.

I guess the ending possibly leaves it open to a sequel? still a few unanswered questions imo
