Sounds like a bowler friendly track or is it bad batting.

I was going to say we will find out when WA bats, but WA is prone to collapsing on batting friendly pitches so it's not a good indicator :p

Like for like. Both left arm swingmen. The towering Blue may be the faster, but Paris is streets ahead in accuracy.. CA has to bite the bullet and have Paris as a ready replacement for Starc when he ultimately fails. We can no longer afford to carry a bowling passenger like we did against India.

How about we let Paris get through a season without injuring himself first

Issue with Starc is he’s in the side as a strike bowler but also to swing the ball. You’re either Johnson or Jimmy Anderson. He’s average at both and not excellent at either.

What we need is our best combination of bowlers, not necessarily our best bowlers pound for pound. We already have Cummins as a wicket taker and Hazelwood hitting a length all day. All that gets undone time and time again by Starc bowling recklessly. What we need is a genuine swing bowler, no matter how fast they bowl. A Neser or Jhye type, or Paris if they’re set on a leftie.

We’re still in this rut where we think we can bowl teams out with heat and aggression. That used to work, now, not so much. We need a bowling unit that sets batsmen up. Always loved the template of Steyn, Morkel and Philander, all just complemented each other extremely well.

Murray Goodwin's boy Jayden opening the batting for WA. Big wraps on this kid a couple of years ago. Then he vanished from the scene. Evidently he has been on a religious mission...
