If Lynch was playing then Sinclair wouldn't be.

For me Sinclair is the biggest positive that has come out of this year for us. Will be a worthy replacement for Cox when he retires. Only thing that has let him down so far is his goalkicking - but he isn't alone with that.

Lynch did his job, but he was workmanlike. How many times did Eagles fans lose their mind when Lynch dropped chest mark after chest mark in 2005/2006? As the club struggled, his glove routine was a bit of a highlight, but he simply didn't possess the class of a Kennedy, Lecras or an inform Darling.

He wasn't getting a game with our less-than-full-strength squad. So we've had some injuries and Lynch might have been handy, but he would have been dropped on a week much like this one, with Nic Nat returning. Would we have won the last two games with Lynch playing? Well no, and therein lies the nonsense with another Walls article.

He was dropping chest marks in '05 mate, '06 was when he started clunking them and putting them through the big sticks. He had a brilliant year (That and '08 I rate as his best).

The glove thing was great while it lasted. Slightly off topic, but I can still remember sitting at the Ponsford Stand end when he marked a lace out pass from Kerr on the slide outside 50 in the third quarter of the '06 GF.

He was a mile out and when he flung his glove to the trainer, we all leapt up in our block. He went backed a let go of one of he booming kicks (I heard the contact from over 65 metres away in a stadium filled with 90k + people) and it split the middle. Farken epic.

Was sad to see Lynch go - he rarely gets injured and was a great servant of the club. He was worth a 2 year contract - could have been a 300 game player for us.

But with Kennedy and Darling, Lynch wouldn't get as many games at West Coast. He made the right choice going to the Pies.

I think if he had stayed he would have played every game so far. With NN injured, cox ageing,Mcgovern injured,Mcinnes obviously not coming on as quick as expected, sinclair wouldnt have been upgraded probably, maybe not even drafted and lycett a bit shellshocked lynch would have been very important in this early part of the season, who knows about the rest tho when NN comes back.Im sure if his form was good he would keep his place

Lynch is a much better player than Sinclair and Lycett. Would have been worth his weight in gold this year as a backup ruck, roaming forward or even as a KPF if Kennedy gets hurt. It presented as a big mistake not giving him two years at the time, has played out as an unmitigated distaster.

regardless Lynch wanted a two year deal, he would of got games this year on luck, but what about next year or right now with players coming back, his just depth for us, not really needed.
