hey guys

I was doing some looking into old fixtures and saw that you guys hosted Brisbane in 2007 at the Gabba?

Why did you play a home match at the Gabba?

Melbourne sold home games to the ground between 2001 and 2007 in an attempt to rescue their dramatic financial woes, before moving to the ACT for 2008 - 2009 and the Northern Territory from 2010 onwards.

In 2006 we even played a home game at Carrara Stadium (now known as Metricon).

Playing at Carrara at the time makes sense but the Gabba doesnt really seeing the lions play there and you were playing the lions
It wouldn't draw a crowd against anyone else, and so no one would buy the game.

The early to mid 2000s we sold our “home” game to the lions so we’d make $300k unsure if 07, was the last year of the contract.

We would have played Al Qaeda in Afghanistan for money at that point.

It would have been very 'failed state' of them to hand out tax dollars to a club like ours, we should have asked.

Given teams are doing all of these full match replays, what about our epic comeback at the Gabba where Neita kicks about 8 goals on Mal Michael?
