I read that as:Here's a query that may just be a result of my tired eyes.
I frequent the Fitzroy board, as I'm pretty immersed in their history, and particularly their sad demise. I was just reading the official documentation of the Brisbane Bears - Fitzroy Football Club merger. I saw this:
b) The playing uniform of the Merged Club will, for a period of 7 years after the Merger Date for away games, comprise the existing Fitzroy playing uniform (or the existing Fitzroy preseason playing uniform) (save that the emblem shall be be BL not FFC) and for all home games and all games after 7 years, will predominately comprise all Fitzroy colours in a design approved by AFL;
Now, I understand the Lions didn't have a designated away jumper until 2004 - which was the earliest in which a new design could be appropriated. So I kind of read into this as the Brisbane Lions wearing their 1997-2009 home strip, away from home.
But of course, later in the extract, it is detailed that there will be a new design. This new jumper would be the home strip worn by the Lions from 1997-2009.
So, what was the supposed away kit going to be? Is this just an overly complicated way of saying that the Brisbane Lions would have to wear (what was) their home strip, away from home?
That's how I interpreted it.From what I read that was supposed to be a replica of the old home but with a 'BL' monogram instead of an 'FFC' one.
That's how I interpreted it.
The existing playing uniform was the red and royal design. Not the maroon and darker blue used by the Brisbane Lions later on. So as PAFC has said, the proposed and stipulated jumper was the '96 Fitzroy jumper with a Brisbane Lions monogram/logo (which, as is previously stipulated in the guidelines, was to be the Fitzroy lion).
So that should have been the away jumper.
Yet the whole situation promised in the agreement didn't occur. It almost seems the inverse occurs: Instead of having an away jumper for the first seven years, they didn't have one for seven years.
I think this occurred: The newly designed top - as worn by the Lions from the 1997 to 2009 season - was appropriated by Fitzroy.
They deemed it acceptable as an away jumper as well - as it contained the basic design and colour of a Fitzroy design (that of the one worn before colour TV). It also had the Fitzroy Lion. And so, it was worn in all games.
Yeah, I most certainly realise this. If anyone hasn't, I recommend reading 'The White Ant Files' on the 'Roys BF section. Pretty terrible to see a club of such tradition to be treated so appallingly.So does anyone actually believe it was a merger, and not a takeover?
They just took the best few players, changed their name from Bears to Lions and added Blue to their colours and continued on as if nothing happened.
Fitzroy got lied to, screwed over, and then told to enjoy the premierships 'their team' went on to win.

Can someone simplify this logo for me???

Would do it if I still had PS, but I only have paint and it's pretty long process on paint.![]()
You can't really do the whole process on PS, you just make it a lot easier and less time consuming if you do some of the stuff on PS.
