Seriously dude, didn't you see the irony in my post?
Are we talking "Rain on your wedding day" irony or real irony?

Could someone tell me the most common fonts that are used for the jumpers numbers in the AFL?

Thank god they stopped with the Haettenschweiler. One other one that comes to mind is the one that Collingwood used in the 80's, with the U.S. college-style. Bloody awful!
Yeh its the same font as the one on the logo just with excessive outlines. I worked out with Identifont it was called ITC Machine, but I couldnt download this for free so Omegaville supplied me with a font called FederationHull which is pretty similar.Ah yes. Port also had something similar on their first jumper.
That was all of them, it's just not all players wore them.Essendon also used regular Helvetica numbers on several of their early sublimated jumpers, circa 1996 (but not all). #11 definitely stood out on those ones. Those were the first-generation sublimated.
Brisbane used a funny font in 06 which I'm sure Mero could tell us the font name. Even now, some clubs numbers are slightly thicker and more spaced apart than others.
Garamond.Wouldn't be Garamond as that's a serif font.

I would like to see Port wear their first away jumper with this number font next year for a Heritage Round, sell replicas of the jumpers and iron/press the number on for you if you like...but thats a discussion for another time and place.
I think I found it. Gill Sans Condensed Bold
I have a few Gill fonts but not that one... will have to hit Google
Edit: Try here
First one looks alright but second link is broken.
