Just on the A-League catalogue being touted. It shouldn't be to difficult given the numerous FM templates going around and A-League kits being based of similar templates for the first 6 seasons.

Not sure if this has been asked, but where do you buy the pre-2007 AFL numbers? (without the AFL logo)
Should I just go to Kmart or something and buy them numbers? Or is there a sports store that would stock good quality footy numbers, then Kmarts cheap shit.

I can't give you a definitive answer (my only thought is that they colour code, and they're Pumas too so they were probably provided, as Puma have been with the Hawks for decades).
However there were a couple of things that I found interesting in that pic (great set by the way!)
1. Great mark by Snake Baker. One of the all time GF classics
2. I love those motivational banners that hang over the fences. These seemed to be commonplace throughout the 70's but obviously advertising spelled the end for them. Did anyone see/remember any really good or funny ones?

I'm right into (mostly film) photography, so that's how I found that wonderful set. It just reminds me of a nostalgic, personal, suburban connection to clubs. But that's a deeper, sadder matter entirely!
I loved seeing that banner as well. It'd be really nice to see things like that displayed at grounds. Of course, it's quite hard as most clubs ground-share. Who else uses Metricon Stadium? Does tier signage create much revenue? What if you were to put up red signs with the yellow 'rising sun', with simple things like GO SUNS and THIS IS OUR COAST or something sprayed across them. Perhaps placing them in between the central, and goal end ads, could be a nice agreement.

Colour TV had just come in, and this was Puma's part in creating as much colour as possible.
Not every player wore them at Hawthorn, and at other clubs, a few North players wore Blue boots and within a year or so Phil Carman was wearing White boots for Collingwood.
I think this was when everyone decided this coloured boots thing was madness and would never last.

Are you guys talking about the old fence banners that used to be where the sponsors on the bounday?
In both the grand finals last year one on level 2 of olympic stand and one om
Level 2 of southern stand (punt rd end) there was one banner for piesand one for saints. Saints one said somthing like "oh how i want to be with stkilda"
Pies one i cannot remember fully but it had somthing to do with there theme song they looked awsome though from memory they were set out like the old1 with that font. Anyone else go to the granny and see them??
