Great thank you! Was that VFL logo used in any other capacity, to your knowledge?

There's some other subtle differences you might spot in the medal design by the looks.

Might have been the official logo in 1924.
From what I can tell, the medal didn't change much, if at all.
Obviously the VFL logo went through some changes over the years.
I remember it looking like this on footy cards
1973.jpg

Don't have any AFL Annual Reports from 1924 to check it against.

Anyone know how I can resize a picture without using paint? When I resize it on this, the quality is awful :(

You can copy and paste it from your paint file into a word doc. Then open a new paint file and paste it from your word doc into there. This means you have two paint files of the same design, one, the original, you can edit and the other is pixellated and smaller.

Cheers, that'll work perfectly for what I need to do :thumbsu: Usually I resize things on my photoshop elements but atm that isn't installed on the computer I'm using :(

Will try this as well :thumbsu: Only have 2003 Word though so hopefully it still works

Wow, I feel silly posting three replies in a row but anyway. What I was actually trying to do (probably should have mentioned it) was recolour a simplified sponsor and then resize it. I think what I did was a little bit different to what LC16 was trying to get at, being a bit of a combination between what he and Bradles suggested.
I opened up the sponsor logo in paint and recoloured it to the colours I wanted. I then pasted it into Word and resized it to the size I need for it to fit on the shorts. I then used 'print screen' and pasted a screenshot of the Word document into a new paint file. This was heaps smaller than the simplified logo (as I wanted it to be) and unsimplified (no longer a problem). I was then able to copy the logo from this paint window and paste it onto the shorts of the design I am changing/fixing.

:)

This might help Braddles too if he ever wants to make things bigger

If anyone is looking for a good freely available paint program, I recommend Paint Shop Pro - version 4.12. It's pretty ancient now (PSP is at version 10), but the demo/shareware version of 4.12 was the last one to keep working after its trial period had expired. It does resizing, magic wand selections, multiple windows, gradient or pattern fills - without the fluff or cost of Photoshop. And you can save as PNG. Google it, get onto it :thumbsu:

Could someone please post the Fremantle chevron Design for the paint templates would be highly appreciated.

Speaking of templates, would people be able to help me compile a template guide to be stickied? I want to have a single thread at the top of the board for people to be able to access things like Smeagle's and Jethro's paint templates, Gava's photoshop templates, and things like the Fremantle chevrons, stripes, hoops and WC Wings all in one spot for easy access.

Yeah I'll chip in. It would definitely stop the questions which are seeming endless from newbies visiting the board. Do you want the images reuploaded in this new thread if we already have them saved? Or should we just try and dig them out from old threads?

PM me them. I've got Smeagle's templates, Gava's photoshop template, and Cory's template. The plan is for me to post the templates or links to the templates in the thread, and lock it, similar to the directories.

If there's anyone who has made a template, and for what ever reason doesn't want it shared, thats fine by me though.

Reuploading would be easiest, wouldn't it?

Yeah I thought so. Imo the easiest way would be to put up a thread where everyone uploads everything they have on their computer template-wise, and then compile all that into a finished, new, thread.

I'd hate to feel like I'm trying to have too much of an input here Doc, but personally I would embed the images rather than link to them; I think it should be as easy as possible for newbies to find templates :)
