Can you please explain the policy of deleting threads that mention other websites?
We have had two removed from the Richmond board recently.
This is all just footy people sharing. It's not a competition between sites.
Most of us would agree the more sites the merrier.
There is a place on the BigFooty board asking people to put links to here on their boards, which we would be more than happy to do.
The moderator on the Richmond board used to advertise his site frequently on another site.
Surely that's the way it should be, but there seems to be a bad dose of double standards here.
Please reply to this thread rather than delete it, so everyone knows where we stand.
Cheers,
Rosy.

Rosy - that was me doing that.

In short, BigFooty's policy with respect to spamming is:

Threads dedicated towards promoting another site are not permitted. They are removed immediately without question

If you wish to promote your site, add links into your signature. This is acceptable to Bluey. This means that both sites win - BigFooty wins because of the contribution you are making to the discussion and you win because a link appears whenever you post.

This policy was in place during my TigerFury.net days and still exists now.

I also post on other forums, moderate on BigFooty and have my own site. When on BigFooty I usually use my signature with the link to my site if I think I have added something to Bigfooty quality wise. *** for tat. I rarely post the link twice in one thread unless I forget to deselect it. This is the same policy I use on other forums as well. Otherwise the place looks like a giant billboard.
