Next question -

Will there be reserve days in the case a second half of a match gets washed out?

Mind you, its not going to be needed because its going to be quite hot in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at this time of the year

In 2007 ties in the semi's were to be resolved via a bowl-out. Guessing this time it will be the super-over.

Piss poor way to do it if you ask me! NRR ftw.

Cheers Wolf.

I would like to see them all. Better get Fox I suppose.

It's so worth it, if you can afford it mate. Pity they won't introduce a Cricket Channel though. :(

I've kind of resisted over the years, mainly due to the fact that the kids would take over and they don't really need another form of media to stare at. They are older now so I might treat myself, but do I really need more media to stare at myself. :o

I reckon the ICC is right on this occasion, it is a bullet they had to bite, Twenty20 definitely means the games will be closer and people will forget about it and move on.

For having no minnows in the Fifty50 world cup for stopping these non events, I was listening to Test match special's coverage last night and one of the commentators was right in stating what an awful event it was to see an English Rugby team pummel a team from Romania 100 and something to zero. Whereas the Worst you can get in a World Cup of Football is Australia losing 0-4 to Germany

Also I want the Champions League scrapped - even though the quality of cricket is quite good - by virtue of the fact only test standard teams feature. If the next world cup features just the 10 test nations there really is no point of having two tournaments that are exactly the same.

Portugal 7-0 North Korea...

Anyway, I can't help but disagree. 12 I could handle, give these struggling nations some sort of carrot. How many World Cups have come and gone without an Associate beating a Full member nation? None. They are not total basketcases!

Ok how about this for a idea with the Associate nations.

The Associate nations can pick a maximum of 3 players from any of the test playing nations, who are on the fringe on their nations respective squads, or from the first class set ups.

For example Australia, India, South Africa, England, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh will proved 3 players that the Associate nations think will suit their squad/teams.

These players can play for the Associate nations in the world cup, Champions Trophy etc, 20/20 World Cup.

I don't know if this can work but I think we need to keep the Associate nations playing cricket if we want to truly make cricket a global brand.

Feel free to criticize or add your ideas.

The current format is way too long. I agree with having the associate countries in too.

To shorted the comp I suggest 3 groups of 5, top 2 to in each group quarter finals. 3rd places and highest ranked 4th place from each group play off for the remaining quarter final slots.

This would guarantee all associate countires at least 4 games, it would reduce the length of the competion and it would add another associate country in too.

Netherlands have got Ryan ten Doeschate, Tom Cooper and that ratbag Micky Swart so they have their quota.

Not sure about the others.

It takes 42 matches to knock out the first six teams (leaving probably the 'big eight') and then only seven further matches to knock out seven further teams.

They should make it 16 teams, with four pools of four (two of the 'big eight' in each pool). Top two from each pool go through, meaning 24 matches knock out eight sides.

Heres a funny thought

Under the current format, if they play 2 or even 4 games a day the tournament can still be finished inside 3-4 weeks

But NO... the ICC is TV revenue chasing

Where have I seen that before...? ;)

Too much risk of, say, India and Pakistan missing the knockout stage. $$$ down the drain!
