Long story as to how it all came about, but I'm expecting a couple of packages from America to arrive in a few weeks at an address that will no longer be inhabited by anyone (if it's even still standing). I will be getting my mail redirected to another address.

On the AusPost website it says that "Articles that require customs documentation" cannot be redirected. Does this mean every package from overseas? Anyone have any experience or knowledge of a similar situation?

Give Customs a call tomorrow morning or would that just be silly ?

I think we got crack !

I'd say you will be right, not all packages are picked up by customs, the majority of them just get sent without being checked unless they look suspicious.
I'd therefore say there is an awfully good chance you'll get your packages without any trouble.

I believe all mail entering Aus gets x-rayed. So if there's nothing suspicious in it (which I'm sure there isn't), there should be no problems when Aus Post go to redirect that mail.
