Can you see the big green Post New Thread button yet, near the top, bit to the left? Or alternatively, to the right of the current thread title (go to the list of threads to see this, rather than viewing one specific thread.
There are a couple of benchmarks to reach before you can start your own thread - have to post a certain number of times - is one.
Can't remember them all offhand - can find out for you, though.

You need 20 posts to start threads which you have done so you may have to wait for a week since you joined today
