As for the type of player we'd ideally be looking at, I guess looking at Leon's impact this year it would be nice to get another damaging outside player. Someone with top shelf footskills and pace, but with the draft pick we have that will be unlikely.

I agree. There's a shortage of pacy ball carriers on our list. Often this type of player can be viewed as high risk/high reward and can therefore be drafted in the 20s or beyond. We are fortunate to be in a position wherby we can take a risk on a loose cannon who could be anything if he gets his head together.

This is his third and final year on the rookie list. He hasn't done anything to warrant a senior list position. He will be delisted. I highly doubt we would give him a fourth year as a rookie so the re-rookie scenario is a long shot. Even rookie positions are tight. As a medium defender he also plays a position we have absolutely no need to fill right now. We have a heap of depth in this position. Everything is stacked against him. It would be a dog act for the club not to do surgery whether he was staying or not.

I Totally agree with what you are saying probably deserves to be delisted I'm only going off what I've been told. Although I wouldn't be surprised if collingwood trade him to GWS for a draft pick. But I guess only time will tell.

Fair enough mate. Cheers for sharing it with us. It just seems illogical to me. But who knows.

CHIEF executive Steven Trigg has ruled out offering forward Kurt Tippett up for trade in next month's AFL exchange period, saying Adelaide hasn't given up hope of retaining the 203cm Queenslander when his contract expires next season.

Not that we were a chance but those believing we should chase a Leigh Brown style Forward/Ruck might be interested. Tippett would have been about as good as you could get for that role.

Certainly he would have been ideal for the Leroy role but his price tag would have killed us and the cost of acquiring him trade wise would also have savaged us.

It would never be a viable option for us to pursue Tippett.

Means Gold Coast and Carlton will be looking for other options, both will probably wave fat cheques at Dawes.

Dawes doesn't seem the sort of guy to me that will leave, hopefully won't pick up tomorrow's paper and he's a Blue, but feel he's clever enough to know that Collingwood will give him everything he needs out of footy and a flying start to his legal career thereafter.

A Leigh Brown replacement appears to be our main priority to ensure we stay on the top of our game.

Goldy isn't able to do that is he? Not strong enough? Gee he'd be great floating around the ground and really he'd only have to try and nullify in the ruck, Leroy didn't do much more that that, whilst in the ruck.

Hale did Ok for Hawks in that role, it'd be good if we could find someone...we have a plethora of mids, maybe one of them may need to be traded to get someone really good.

If we were to lose Dawes it would be a massive massive blow to our list management and throw the balance of the list way out.

He'd be the sort of loss that would have me willing to draft Fev!

We have no depth whatsoever below Dawes in the KP area. Especially if the rumours about our rookie cuts are true. It's a real concern.

Yep. Key forward depth is priority. I would look to draft one with our first pick, and look to get Fev on the cheap (as well as retaining Dawes). That should shore up our stocks for the short / medium term (then we get a light Stewart the following year).

.

No, absolutely not. Far too light. We would get killed in the ruck.

This isn't a massive concern. We have Dawes / Wood / Keefe who could all do it (all probably will) at various point during the season. It is not a critical role to fill. Everyone seems to be overreacting to Brown's retirement.

Yeah, I've wondered is the big play we'll make is for Fevola. If we do lose Dawes then he would be perfect to replace him (onfield anyways).

Six of your crew have been told they will be delisted, this is outside the current 30 man training group and excludes the retiring Leigh Brown.

You can guess the names but Shae Mac as indicated elsewhere is on that list.

5 are probably easy to figure out the 6th is where it gets interesting.

Reed
McNamara
Perham
Reilly
Gordon.

After that there are several possibles.

Excluding Hunter and Brown who are retiring pretty much guaranteed that Reykjavik's list is correct.

I think Bolton will survive and the other "delistee" will come from the senior list. My guess is Farmer purely because I don't see anything in him to like.

^Stubbs has less to like!

I would say those are the 5, and Stubbs will be the 6th. Farmer still has a lot of tools to work with (not many 6 foot 3 blokes can have his hands and can run 20m in 2.8). Not saying he is good, but it is worth seeing out his contract.

Those 5 listed by Reykjavik would make sense.

We have to be cutting players from the senior list too unless we expect to trade atleast 2 as we are required to pick up atleast 3 in the national draft. Personally I think we may want more.

Dick, Stubbs and Farmer are the most likely to be delisted IMO.
