A further killer to any chance of him playing a KPD role or even as a third tall really is that he does not really get off the ground either.

Hi Quigs :)

Stop paying too much attention to those draft camp results your mates are givivng you ;)

Hehe well sometimes they can certainly be deceiving especially with guys who have not trained for them.

With that said I am pretty sure I could get that far off the ground as old and fat as I am getting.

The kid could well turn out to be a nice player I just don't see him as a KP.

Neither does Hughes, he's already said quite a few times that he'll be a running midfielder.

I think they are looking at:

- his efficiency % which is likely to be good given he is usually pretty conservative with his kicks.
- his ability to kick well off either foot which is not common.
- the fact that he does on occasion go long and looks pretty reasonable doing it when he is in space and has time to weigh things up.
- the fact that he has not really been caught out much at junior level and I might be overstating the issue or seeing something which is not there.

I expect as he develops he will cut out the long ball a fair bit and just stick to the conservative short to intermediate options where he can just punch it in there. I think he should be fine coming out of defense I just do not expect him to carve teams up and be a great long kick out of defense. He should be solid and hopefully won't make mistakes.
You don't learn unless you make mistakes...

Quigley, firstly great work. Secondly, the WB have been permission to have Matt Jones (Labrador) train with us over preseason. I understand he's a mature age (low 20's) midfielder but know nothing else about him. Do you know much about him?

Sorry divvydan I haven't really seen much of him at all. I have probably seen a few games that he played in but I can't say I paid much attention to him given he was not on my radar at all. He is a 23 year old who only moved to Qld this year from South Croydon. He is a mid with great agility but is a bit slow and his endurance needs some work. thoselionslads is a bit of a NEAFL watcher and might be able to give you a bit of info if you pm him.
